Real Madrid to sign ‘new Zidane’

MADRID - Real Madrid, still not satisfied with their squad for the new season, may chase up the man being touted as the "new" Zinedine Zidane, Marseille’s Samir Nasri, if they fail to net AC Milan’s Kaka, media reports said.

Argentine Lucho Gonzalez of Porto has also taken Real’s fancy but 20-year-old French international Nasri is their prime target, according to AS and Marca.

German coach Bernd Schuster is tracking the "new pearl of European football" in the words of AS.

Nasri, French young player of the year, has nonetheless indicated he plans to stay at the Stade Velodrome for this season at least and his contract with Marseille runs to 2009.

Marca added that Lucho, 26, is also in the frame with a 25-million-euro price tag attached, although Lyon and Valencia are also after him.

But Real’s moves for Chelsea’s Dutch winger Arjen Robben and Feyenoord defender Royston Drenthe appear to have stalled with their clubs wanting a respective 36 million and 17 million euros for their players.

what "kind" of player is that?
the zidaney kind of player :D

id love it if we signed this guy, but i dont see it happening. He looks like he will become something big! He has that quick decision making and is very quick on his feet, the sort of aspects i havent seen in a player since Zidane. Although i feel he still needs to grow a little more at Marseille with the possibility of moving clubs in a year or 2.

the kind of player that would probably end up in a very prestigous club , i see this guy playing in spain (real or barca ) rather than engand or italy .
Real would easilly splash over 30 million for this guy and so would barca . I doubt juve or milan would do that

yes, and i feel ever since he left, we are missing somebody like him who gives us that spark.. i feel Nasri could fill that spot.
well said mate
ever since zizou left weve lacked something in our midfield department...apart from nedved we havent been succesful at capturing high class attacking midfielders
im hoping that upon our return to the champions league we will c the big singings we want...but for now we need to stick with team players

tt shows our board is not aggressive enough in the transfer. and imo, its good to splash big money on nasri.. and i think it worth of gambling on this player..

Yeah, I know what your talking about, Moggi and co were all ching ching bling bling, seriously 28m on Neddy, 32 for Gigi, A lot for David too, so I would certainly say yes there is that aggresive board missing.

Says who? I don´t think Juve is even considering Nasri, unfortunately.
Exactly, I really don't know why this thread is open when we aren't even linked with him. And even if we are there are very slim chances of getting him :faq1:

Were we linked with Andrade, before we all realized that we signed him ? I don't think that our transfer manager give report to the press every morning on what he's planning to do that day.

to be honest, no1 can effectively replace Zidane in any team

and Juventus is not a prestigious club? Even before Calciopoli Juve were not daft enough to splash 30 million Euros on any young promising talent...it cannot ever be worth the risk...

is that a fact ?

they did buy buffon , nedved , thuram etc...
they aren't likely to splash big money , but they would if they really wanted to .
Juventus is a prestigous club ? if they were prestigous , then they would be able to spend lots of money . Right now they aren't prestigous . Teams like man u and real who can afford to spend 30 million on a young talent are considered prestigous .

umm they sold ZIDANE for a world record sum then they bought Buffon Nedved and Thuram

and bascially what u r trying to say is that only clubs that are super-rich, that are backed by national governments or foreign billionaires who dunno jack about football are prestigious...Nice!!! :disagree: :disagree:
