He kinda reminds me of Paulinho. A pseudo-midfielder with his best attributes being his "goal-sense" and high footballing IQ (reading of the game) rather than actual ball skills. I remember Paulinho scoring a ton of goals in 2018 WC qualifying for Brazil (including a hat-trick) playing the same way. He makes the same sort of shadow runs and probes the pitch in the same fashion. It's part of the reason he's been able to play at top clubs like Barca and be a mainstay in the national team. Guys like him and Khedira just add something different despite not being great ball players. Sami at his best is obviously a better player though.

But most of the posters here treat him as a random player playing in Russian league, not someone who played for Real, Germany, Juve and has won many trophies.

Eh does he really score alot of goals? Hitting the posts and missing goals from 1 yard of the line dont count as goals. Getting in great postions means nothing if cant actually the finish simple chances.

Hate to say it but khedira is needed alongside matuidi and pjanic.Bentacur isnt half the player khedira is at the moment.Can for me is an enigma.What were we thinking?
