Except in Cardiff when it really mattered most. But, oh well. He had pretty good run with us.

Still hope it have come to an end..
If you recall he was very good last year down the stretch run and stayed injury-free most of the year and then picked up an injury that held him out of the last few rounds of the season. Came back for CL final and looked like rubbish and not really match fit. Worst injury timing ever that one.

Why people want him sold is so funny. We have guys like Stu on the bench but we want our second best mid sold. Bring in better players like Can and another top cm and have Matuidi Bentancur and Khedira as rotation.
:agree: It's not his fault he's not good enough to be a starting player for a CL caliber team, or at least one harboring ambitions of competing for the top prize. This is on the management, who need to stop dismantling the team every year. Our midfield used to be awesome. This summer, we need two quality reinforcements in midfield, and that should push Khedira to the bench, to be used in rotation with Marchisio and Bentancur. Accidental Footballer and possibly Matuidi should be the ones to make way.

Sami has been fantastic for the stretch run in all 3 of his seasons here. Of course, it would be nice if more of our players were consistently good for the entire season, but whether people like him or not, he's been very good and integral for us when it matters most.
I think Dai was talking about the poster, not Sami :p

keep that in mind for what youre about to read:

2011 semifinal
2012 semifinal
2013 semifinal
2014 won final
2015 semifinal
2016 Ro16 - should have been atleast quarterfinal, if Moratas disallowed goal counted
2017 lost final
2018 QF - could have been atleast semifinal, if not for the Oliver PK

only once he wasnt a starting player, in the 2015 season for Madrid.

It is not wise to release him for free. And who would buy him?
So it's better to keep him for depth, as depth of this level is not very easy to find.
Anyways, as long as we have Beppe, we don't have to worry about CMs.
We only have to worry about AMFs, esp CAMs, this is what he can't easily find.

Why people want so desperately to get rid of our 2nd best mid, when the likes of Stu and Matuidi are still here is beyond me. Blind hate. Buy WC mids and make Sami our 4th CM/1st backup.
