Was never a quick player, but he has lost his legs completely. Jogs around, doesn't track back, doesn't make his late runs into the box anymore and is just a bit of a liability really. I think he'll be in the MLS next season tbh. Sad!

I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt because it's early season, but it's looking increasingly like his football smarts aren't enough to cover for his weaknesses. Right now he only seems to have an hour in him.

Last season there were periods where the guy was really pissing me off, which takes a lot, but he overcame it and was fine for the latter run of games. This season it wouldn't be a surprise to see Matuidi and Bentancur take a lot of minutes off him.

He does way too many silly mistakes. I actually don't expect him to play much this season and I think he'll only get his chances off the bench.

It's a matter of time before Matuidi perma takes his spot. So imo we'll be seeing Pjanic - Matuidi for the whole season with Khedira coming from the bench while Benatancur will get tiny minutes for Coppa or sometimes when we are demolishing a team.

And that is the opposite of what you expect from him and his game. It might be a conditioning issue though. He's a big guy and maybe isn't ageing all that well.

No. We will terminate his contract by mutual consent and let him go on a free just like most of our free transfers. Getting some money off him is far-fetched.

Said it before. As much as I like him he's a luxury player. When he has an off-day all of his weaknesses are exposed. Being slow isn't that much of an issue but it seems he doesn't really cover a lot of ground either. Just too passive really and it doesn't work in a 2-man midfield. Ideally I guess we'd play him behind Pjanic - Matuidi but that means going 4-3-3 or something else.

I wouldnt say he is useless for us and dont see a reason to give up on him. He seems to be worse than Matuidi but he is still a player who helped us reach CL final and win the league last season.
