A top player for free and who is not even old? Certainly a great deal. Unless we offer him massive wages or something.

There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding our midfield with Pirlo almost certainly leaving in a year at most but probably this summer, Pogba always on demand by every rich bastard in the world and Vidal too to a lesser extent (though he expressed a lot of commitment lately but we've seen that happen with others before who got sold). The midfield was the key to Juve's resurgence with the main maestro going, we should have top level replacements lined up so that even if we do sell any of our stars our midfield remains very solid and it wont be urgent to go into the transfer market. We would be relaxed in finding replacements if Vidal or Pogba goes. At the very least Marchisio can permanently take the Pirlo role without having to cover for Vidal and Pogba when they are injured or exhausted.

Staruro is a bonus and is very young. We can ease him into the squad if he proves good enough. I dont want us to need to depend on him because of lack of options I want him as a luxury where we could be comfortable with or without him.

Khedira was a Madrid starter for a very long time before being benched by Modric and Alonso. These are insanely talented world class players that benched him with amazing creativity not average players. Alonso at this age is giving the likes of schweinsteiger a hard time. Modric and Alonso would bench a lot of people that we would love to have here and most certainly including Allan and Staruro. He was also in Germany's starting 11 before he was injured.

Unless he is demanding like 4.5 mill salary or something that outrageous its a great risk free signing. Robben and Sneijder were also deemed unnecessary by Madrid. I am sure they regretted letting them go.

Another bonus is that our Serie A competitors would kill to have someone like him for free. Inter are trying to get Yaya and Thiago Motta for God's sake who are both old but on the cheap. Milan always grabs these kind of deals and thats actually a player that would improve both squads significantly. If Roma are selling any of their midfielders they would also be interested. We don't need him the way they do but if we can get him for free and make sure their midfield remains dysfunctional than thats great.
