Even in history books here, the typical thought process on Hiroshima and Nagasaki is, "yea, for Pearl Harbor, but god damn; we didn't know THAT would happen." I mean, obviously we tested them, but we really didn't know what was going to happen, it was all scientific conjecture. It wasn't until after the war and the Bikini Atoll occurred and we discovered Thermo-Nuclear weapons that it was insane. Russia responded with the Czar Bomba. blah blah
My only point here is there were about three people who didn't regret the nuclear bombs being dropped. Two were the pilots, and I think one was a General. J Robert Oppenheimer, Enrico Fermi, almost all of the scientists who worked on the project went through huge issues with depression. They thought they were saving humanity and did nothing more but create a way for it all to end.
I'm one guy with one opinion, but trust me, you don't want any of this to turn nuclear. Not to say you do, but they aren't going to "find" nuclear weapons. Our response will be odd and unknown at best, I am sure we have people working around the clock on chances, reactions, problems, loss of life stats, shit you don't really want to work on for any longer than a passing conversation at a bar.
We are talking about potentially tens or hundreds of thousands of deaths of innocents in seconds.
Because one guy likes land a bit too much.
