No, I don't. I think he's a figurehead and doesn't really make many decisions, that was an empty threat, I suppose. I'm just saying it makes more sense to me Russia did it so he can use that as leverage in his own country top blame the US/NATO for attacking them.

Aside from the obvious geopolitical motives the boom in US shale gas production and LNG exports since late 2000s has also made it a very lucrative policy.
