No, I don't. I think he's a figurehead and doesn't really make many decisions, that was an empty threat, I suppose. I'm just saying it makes more sense to me Russia did it so he can use that as leverage in his own country top blame the US/NATO for attacking them.

It can go both ways. I just find it weird that such open words are getting totally ignored. Not many countries would have balls to claim such statement yet he did it. And guess what, the exact thing happened. I'm not saying they did it 100% but I just find it strange that it gets totally ignored :lol2:

I don’t think it really matters at this point. Russias lost som much currency with the international community that it will be easy to blame them for any European problems for the next few years.

Opposition towards Nord Stream has been a consistent feature of every US administration starting with Bush, not exactly unique to any one of them. Aside from the obvious geopolitical motives the boom in US shale gas production and LNG exports since late 2000s has also made it a very lucrative policy.
It's one thing to be against it and a whole another to say "if they invade we'll destory it, you can be sure about that".
