Voting is not a problem, the right to vote is a fundamental right.
Older people usually have no clue what's going on, especially generations that were run over by the Internet. It's also quite scary it's them in majority, who are already one foot in the grave, that decide the faith of youngsters. I'd easily sign a paper on my own stating how I won't vote once I reach certain age. Votes would look entirely different if those are cut off.

Poland is basically ruled by the elderly since 2015. The massive majority of them votes for Kaczyński no matter what happens in the country. Some young people do that to, but without the support of 60+ generation the rulling party would never be able to win any elections.

The sad part is that the 60+ generation actually goes and votes every time while young people don't. The rulling party sets elevtions for july-august when they can so that younger people would be too busy going on holidays to vote.

That's the sad reality of democracy, but one that can't really be fixed.

Isn't Orban just right wing? I'm not that familiar with Hungarian politics. does he have authoritarian tendencies?
of course, he's like putin, just not killing journalists (yet haha). same politics though regarding corruption (based on what i read about putin, they have a similar tarif too, 20-25% of public procurements), propaganda & oppression of free press, economy (buying prospering companies using eu money given to friendly oligarchs), migration, you name it.

funny thing is that he used to be liberal, and around '90 he put himself on the local political map by joining/starting the "ruszkik haza" (russians, go home) movement. and now he's putin's lapdog, a nationalist and an avid anti-eu speaker. and he's not right wing either, that's just talk. his policy includes a lot of elements from the communist era. his circle also sold residency bonds (or golden visas, whatever the official name was) to anyone who was able to afford it lol. i think he's got absolutely zero values, he simply counts votes better than anyone in this country, and is able to manipulate public opinion through state owned media better than anyone. i'm sure arthur j. finkelstein's name rings a bell...

btw he was the one who gave double citizenship and voting rights to hungarians living abroad, so that's a solid base for him. again, counting votes is his best skill probably.

Any chances that he was recruited by GRU? i swear he might be double agent
Hungarian authorities issue decree banning arms supplies to Ukraine - Orban
Disproportionate burden - Orban against the ban on energy from the Russian Federation
Viktor Orban: Russia will exist even after the special operation, cooperation will continue
Orban: proposal to create a no-fly zone over Ukraine is dangerous for NATO
This is just past week  @s4tch

god knows man :boh:

for those interested in orbán's policy, read this:
https://444.hu/tldr/2019/04/22/the-rise-and-fall-of-the-man-who-created-viktor-orbans-system

fucking long, i know. just one quote:
IN SUBSEQUENT INTERVIEWS, SIMICSKA REPEATEDLY CITED ORBÁN’S RUSSIA-FRIENDLY POSITION AS THE CAUSUS BELLI BETWEEN THE TWO MEN. SIMICSKA CLAIMED ORBÁN ASKED HIM TO BUY RTL KLUB. WHEN SIMICSKA PROTESTED AGAINST THE IDEA, ORBÁN SAID: “DOESN’T MATTER. ROSATOM WILL BUY IT FOR ME.”

rtl klub is the most watched hungarian cable tv channel, their ownership resides in luxembourg iirc
