Thats just not true. Missile defences, proximity of nato nukes etc. There’s plenty of reasons that deserve attention. But Im outta this thread - hoping for a swift end to the invasion and a lasting peace agreement.

thats such a fucktarded argument, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are NATO members and have posed no threat to Russia even after they joined NATO.
besides, what a genius move by Putin to convince Ukraine not to join NATO by invading them.

I think around 80% of NATO countries would've already deployed troops in Ukraine if not for the risk of starting a nuclear war. So yes, the nukes indeed do guarantee safety for Russia even when they're literally begging for an asskicking, let alone if they mind their business. This is and always has been about their superpower ambitions not national security lol.

Ambitions and national security are interconnected. Dont you think?

When the pro Russian is couped and replaced with a pro EU/NATO government its looking likely. I dont even know what we’re arguing here?

Invading Crimea to regain control of their Naval base makes sense. But they never lost it, are you saying they invaded Crimea for a future possibility that a new leader might revoke their lease? Nah, thats just an added bonus not the motive.

Nope, imo they're not. You dont need to fuck up the lives of everyone in your region to guarantee national security, of anything thats counter productive.
As said before, legally and morally they have no reason to be in Ukraine. But a western oriented Ukraine is a Security issue for Russia. Imo.

Just as nukes in Cuba was a security issue for usa.

I always thought you were a retard, this all but confirms it.

Im right tho. You might not like it, but this is the de facto situation, setting aside all bias. Russia has ambitions of staying a superpower, hence their security concerns are different from other countries with lesser ambitions. Hardly an avantgarde position.

Western oriented =/= nukes aimed at Russia.

Imo Putin has created a 100 times bigger security issue for Russia by entering Ukraine, half of the planet right now is thinking 24/7 how to best fuck up Russian economy and stick it to Russia in general. Now thats a security issue.

Forget Ukraine, Finland has collected enough signatures and sent a petition to the Parliament to join NATO

Imagine China and Russia make a military joint, similar to NATO, do you seriously think western European countries would allow their military base in or next to their country? You think the US would ever allow somebody like that make a base next to their border? Of course not. Anybody who thinks different is lying.

NATO is by default a threat to Russia, without a doubt. When or if it comes to a war there won't be pressing a button for nukes instantly, if anything it will be a last resort, and there's no way in this world a nuclear weapon is a guarantee for peace and no war. That's pure BS.
