Legit question. Why didn't the Serbians stop Mijlosevic themselves?
Or were they content with slobodan's ethnic cleansing policy?
This way NATO intervention wouldn't be required.

So Milosevic was a saint and did nothing wrong? Typical Serbian bullshit, your army have massacred half of the Yugoslavia but you only Cares about NATO bombings, if don't want to be invaded and bombed by NATO then don't do ethnic cleanings
Again, I did not say that, not ONCE. Nor I ever denying the war crime. Just like I can't ignore the war crime that happened against Serbs which are totally ignored while foreigners are not even aware such existed. But I cannot and will not justify NATO bombing when hell was leashed. Only a moron would justify killing 3000 people while dropping 10.000s tons of depleted uranium, making future generations die of cancer at an increased rate.

Same story why Putin is still president of Russia - propaganda and brainwashing, I bet that back then for Serbians Milosevic was a strong leader, political genius

So in your opinion which was the best way to get rid of Slobodan, before he cleanses some other thousands of people?
Also in my country we had the 89 revolution which also took the life of some 3000 and that was government vs it's people.
Now I don't want to justify's NATO's actions. Innocent civilians getting killed is inexcusable, I just want to point out that even if you tried to fight him from within you can bet that he would have butchered a bunch of your people before getting overthrowed if you would have managed to overthrow him.
Is just the way dictators like to go.
They like cleansing and it doesn't matter who they cleanse just so they can keep cleansing until they die.

@Ronn
I've seen a few of his interviews last couple of years, whats up with him? .He seemes to me like he completely stopped towing the regime line. Saw some "direct" criticism of the regime from him as well (as direct as you can be over there)
He’s thrown out of power hierarchy completely and people close to him have mostly been jailed. He had a high profile dispute with Larijani brothers (head of judiciary and speaker of the house at the time. Third brother was also very close to Khamenei) and goes who Khamenei supported.
Mahmoud has since gone scorched earth. Not sure what his calculations are, but if I have to guess he’s clinging to a faint hope of regime collapse, and hoping that post-IRI he might be able to rally his base.

Might have to do with the Serbs being the aggressors, just saying.

Thousands, if not a million of German cilivilans were killed during during bombing raids in WW2, but the Germans just got paid back with their own medicine. Same with the Japanese.

Not to say I don't feel with the civilians being killed in any war, but when your country/nation/people is the aggressor, you really just reap what you sow. And that's what the Serbians did in this case.

Yeah, was my intuition as well. Perhaps appearing more moderate make it more palpable for the west to back him in such case.
Thanks for the insight :tup:
