Juve loan out Olivera

Juventus have sent midfielder Ruben Olivera out on loan to Uruguayan side Penarol until the end of the season.

Since arriving from Danubio in 2002, the promising midfielder has struggled to adapt to life in Italy.

The influx of new midfield talent at Juve has made Olivera’s task even more difficult and he is regarded as fifth choice in the pecking order.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan to Sampdoria and has played 20 games in total for the Old Lady.

Having failed to find a place in Claudio Ranieri’s plans, Olivera may opt to make the move permanent in the summer.

Reports suggest that the Uruguay international has suffered from homesickness in Italy and it is probable that Olivera won’t return to the Turin fold.
