With how many goals? Three? Come on now. He's a great talent but still has a ways to go. After this season we should have a good idea of what kind of player he'll turn out to be.

I also agree...In my opinion he's still too young, so now we can't really have a real impression of him...

Okay, he's gifted...But we can't really predict, what he will play like next year...

no,but he got the 2nd top scorer in a major tournament at 18,something that no one in the history of football has been able to achieve either than Pele.
that's partly because it's very rare an 18 year old gets to play at a tournament as a regular, even less so for a famous footballing country, and even less as a striker.

as you can see, pele and rooney both fit into that category.but to say lil wayne comes even close is bullshit.

People were all hyped up over Mikey Owen years ago, and what did he turn out to be? Overrated.

Rooney is alot better than Owen was during his 'hype'. You only have to look at the goals he scored in the last game to see that. And if you look at those goals, and his whole performance in that game and still cant say that this is easily one of the best, strike that, the best young forward right now, then you need a brain transplant.

Have you seen Fernando Torres play River?

Also very unfair to rate Rooney on what Owen did. Thats completely irrelevent.

Will you rate every young italian forward on cassano? Look at the hype around cassano this past 3-4 years. In three years Rooney wont still be a 'talent', he will be a top class forward.

What I'm saying is that I wouldn't jump overboard naming Rooney the next Best or whatever just yet. Its far too early to tell and he doesn't deserve any of that kind of praise yet. And I'm just saying that everyone was hyped about Owen as well, and look what he turned out to be. Don't expect too much from the kid so early.

Owen turned out to be the best Liverpool forward since Ian Rush, a treble winner and European Footballer of the Year and BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

And Owen is far from finished.

other than the UEFA cup, FA cup and the league cup are hardly competive trophies. so i wouldnt brag about it :D . and imo that year Figo deserved to get the europian award more than Owen.

FA cup and Uefa cup wins with a team like Liverpool is impressive.

And FA Cup isnt competitive? Dont mistake if for that piece of trash Italian cup.

Andy whats your point? If he isnt playing he's a bad player . If he dosent get to play he will go to another club. He's still relatively young.

Beckhams doing fine in spain and will do in future when he sorts out his head. Beckham was fantastic his first few months at Real, he already proved he is good enough, infact fantastic in the spanish league. Cant be easy to play football when you miss you kids and wife, cant speak the language and are busy with other women you know :)

Maybe, but Beckham looked out of place with the Real team in both the Leverkusan and Roma matches. Madrid wasted their money once again, two years in a row now.

Wasted their money on Becks? They have already profited from him.
Wasted their money in a football sense, not an economic one. ;) He was only brought in as a money maker for Oriental interest.
