But he did jack shit in Europe. Taking your league by storm is one thing, taking Europe by storm is another.
My i direct you to the 5-1 killing of inter milan, and the double header thrashing of celta vigo? Two great matches. hey, and a quater final isnt that bad. Ronaldino wasnt even in the CL.

Two great matches does not win anything. And I already said both Ronaldinho and Henry do not deserve it.

And deco? he isnt that good.. im sorry but i dont think he is a great player. Sure his porto won the league, but its portugal leauge. Portugal got to the final and barely used deco (well fine in 2 matches wasnt it?) Porto sucked arse in the groups, and he was inaffective against lyon (second leg was the one i saw, so i dont know about the first)the only had 2 good games i saw of deco, the final and depor away leg.

But ill give you, that he was more deserving the ronaldino. But Henry last season amazed me...

He might be good, but he sucked in the Euros as well. To me he did not do anything in Europe except for two good matches. You must remember that the EPL is much different from Europe.

he was good, not amazing. he was the playmaker for porto, who cares.m the champions cup belongs to mourinho. and both figo and ronaldo were better than deco in portugal.

Deco might not be as amazing as Ronaldinho, but the former led his team with his attacking displays to being the best club in Europe. That is much different than wowing the crowd with all sorts of tricks.

ronaldinho did make his team from an average side to a championship contester. in his first season. had there been more games in the league barca wouldve definitely won

The award of transforming Barca into a great side last season goes to the coach Rijkaard and the great work of Edgar Davids.

Who deserves it more though? A player who has great tricks, or a player who led his team to victory in Europe? It's certainly the latter, enough said Vil.

andy, thats what im talking about. it wasnt deco who led porto to glory, it was great tactics and impressive teamwork.

maybe charisteas deserves the trophy then, he did led greece to the championship.

lets just leave this, waste of time anyways, i hate discussing football on forums :D

Deco was brazilian but he;s now portuguese. I guess by switching nacionalities he lost that special priviledge brazilians get

Everyone should keep in mind that this award is never coherent
