Release clause?

He's clearly a world class defender, one of the best out there but obviously too injury prone. Valuating him will be difficult. I'd probably have a high release clause and put some clawback mechanism in the deal if he's injured a lot.

Barcelona are probably looking to use Juve as a guinea pig to see what his condition is like at the end of the season. A pre agreedbfee for the option would be the best way to go from JJs perceptive

Yeah but it's January and unless you will flood some club with cash they won't release a first team player. So this kind of win-win is the only way to go since we don't have much money.

New year, new You!

Tbh i was convinced i’ll be reading about how there’s not much to worry about because medical screens and sports science being advanced, but now after reading your post i’m even more worried about his injury record…
Some injuries are relapse risks, other aren't. And like in Kaluku's case solitary cases usually don't say much. This many muscle injuries (Araujo) certainly are a huge red flag 'tho...

A gamble could work out fine but if it's him alone, I'd be very worried because we're already too thin as it is and Danilo is leaving too...

just heard Romano live on polish youtube channel:
Juve interest is very concrete and transfer is very probable, depends on Juve willingness to spend money really. He also said we will buy 2 defenders this mercato.

If we're really getting a second (reliable) option, it's worth a shot imo.

i think the other one should be more flexible, for example Hancko, who could also play LB
That would make a lot of sense; replacing Cabal. Also he's pretty experienced and hasn't had worrysome injuries. I can't judge his qualities but the price seems steep fot an Eredivisie player 'though.

Tak!

Barcelona wants him gone to reduce their salaries. Why wanted Danilo out in the first place was to reduce our salaries.

I assume he will come with a hefty salary? That plus his injury record, really does seem like a perfect fit for us. Welcome!

he is currently 7m gross, which is around 3.5m net. Im not sure what we can call hefty these days, but I woukd sign him on 5-6m net.

Even tho Im not against it (providing we sign another defender) this deal still reminds me so much of Di Maria, Ramsey, Pogba etc.

A quality player we are excited to have but will never get to see due to injuries.
