The number of muscle injuries is problematic but he’s a world class player and worth the swing imo, especially if it’s just a loan with an option. With only a year left on his deal, that option shouldn’t be that prohibitive either.

That’s quite a stretch tbf… he is indeed good and has the potential to get even better with more experience but atm is still far from an finished article, injuries have interfered with his overall growth and consistency, there’s a reason why he is on the market and with not that many ‘elite’ suitors despite the deal itself being a potential bargain, so i’d rather lower my expectations a bit.

Nonetheless, if the loan+option/obligation formula and price are within reasonable parameters then i’m all for taking a gamble on him, although when looking at the injury history he is someone we should probably avoid.

Not sure exactly how reliable this article is but i wouldn’t say it’s a done deal yet, not at all atm, more like the player has given his availability, other journo’s for example are reporting we are still negotiating the loan formula and other important details that could take a twist at any time.

Ok, now I get it. He has never missed more than 23 games so since he has already missed 22 this season, he should be fit for the remaining games.

In today’s football big teams like Juve play over 50games in a season, it’s not like we wouldn’t be resting him for some anyway, if he misses ~20games per season due to injuries it’s fine if he is available for the other 30games remaining, even if for a few more of those he will also not be in good form and still recovering sharpness.

he was one of the best CBs in the world before injury, if he can stay fit then he surely will be a hit here. But can he stay fit?
