What was his injury?
It's not that much about the type, I think it was groin, but more about the fact that the one that did keep him out for so long was a reflaring injury, meaning the probability is rather highg for that to occur again. Of course, there are exceptions like Pepe, whose health has been a really pleasant surprise this season, but it's risk we shouldn't take if there are other options availabel (loaning him for another year to test him before permanently buying him).

He still needs to prove if he is nto good enought. And with Lichteiner playing like a one trick pony and caceres being unavailable always..... im surely not mad at all at having options.
Caceres must get fit at some point too, no? Would we have two injury prone players deputizing for an old timer? Not to mention both of those deputies aren't exactly world beaters when healthy and are well within their peak years.
Sounds like a plan...

PS: Not to mention Romulo is considered great value @6M, but Darmian who would cover 2 positions and will be arguably our second best option out of all fullbacks is expensive @10-15M?

After we secure the scudetto, he should play in all games if possible. To at least have some material to rate him.

Romulo returns to Juventus training
By Football Italia staff

Romulo has returned to training with Juventus, having not made an appearance since a 7-0 victory over Parma in November.

The Brazilian is on loan from Verona, but has played just 97 minutes for the Bianconeri this season as he has struggled with injury.

However, the 27-year-old returned to training with his teammates today, and could make a return to competitive action before the end of the season.

The Old Lady have the option to buy the player outright for €6m at the end of this season, a cluse which would have become mandatory had be played over 60 per cent of their matches this season.

Clearly that clause will not be activated, but the player’s agent remains confident that a deal can be struck between the two clubs.

So far, so good. Not bad for being out for 6 months. Not bad at all.

If he plays like this the next three matches, Juve would be crazy not to renew the loan
