Padoin was a utility player all across the midfield. This guy is that kind of player but can play in defense and midfield. He is a more useful Padoin. Why is that a bad thing?

True he wasn't a requirement, but I still think he will be a much more useful squad player than Pado for example. I still think we are looking to land the big fish with a month left so while that is cooking on the back burner, Marotta is tying up some loose ends in the squad especially now that Isla is heading out.
