Mandragora set for Juventus

By Football Italia staff

Juventus have a deal in place to sign Rolando Mandragora from Genoa, but he’ll remain at Pescara until June.

The midfielder is only 18 years old and made his Serie A debut against Juventus in October 2014.

Sky Sport Italia claim Juve will make the news official over the next few days, signing a five-year contract.

The deal is worth €7m immediately, plus up to another €7m in performance-related bonuses.

Mandragora is currently on loan at Serie B side Pescara and will remain there for the rest of the season.

Yeah both done, tho Sensi just an option (new co-ownership system...), and costs just half of what we bought Mandragora for fully with bonuses, despite the latter being younger at 18.

Pescara President Daniele Sebastiani believes Rolando Mandragora “can play a leading role right away” for Juventus.

The 18-year-old midfielder is on loan with the Serie B side, but the Bianconeri have agreed a deal to buy him from Genoa.

“Rolando is a young man with a big future,” Sebastiani told Calciomercato.

“He has great physical attributes and can play different roles in the midfield. Juventus are about to pull off a major coup.

“The player has great personality and can play a leading role in Serie A right away. After all, his debut was against Juventus…

“Will he stay here on loan? Yes, unless there’s some sensational twist.”

Gianluca Lapadula is top scorer in Serie B, and Sebastiani says Juventus and other clubs are also interested in the striker.

“Half of Serie A is paying attention to Gianluca, Juventus included. It’s normal, I’d be surprised if it wasn’t this way given his growth and the season he’s having.

“Juve are focusing on young players. I can say he’s a player they’re following, they really like him.

“Will it have to wait until June? Yes, our intention would be to make the most of our chance to go to Serie A, and Gianluca is a fundamental player for us.

“He can really help us achieve our goals.”
