why?

which ones?
Often bad decisions in possession.

Losing the ball too often around our box.

Puts everyone else around him under pressure or gives silly FKs away near our box.

Not much provided to our attack either IMO.
As clumsy as Matuidi can be he still is a more intelligent player. Needs to work on his decisions

I’ll call it age so hopefully in another year or two it improves

Stupid mistake, but he is still young and will hopefully learn from it.

And yes, he has been better than Pjanic and probably Matuidi this season.

Deserved red, very reckless and when you are already on a yellow and ref seems card happy, succeptible to home crowd suggestions, you need to take a step back and reconsider your approach. Just a silly, pointless challenge around opponents box, that left us with a man down. Hes young though and will learn from this. Overall hes having a good season.

He's a weird player, does something good then bad, good then bad, repeat
Sounds like a typical young player :)

His shot off the bar was great.

His potential is obvious, and one game doesn’t change that. Even Vidal and Marchisio got red cards in big games sometimes.
:agree:

One dumbass moment, in a game we could easily afford to drop points in, doesn’t change anything. The growth he’s shown this year is fantastic but he’s only 21 and some rash decisions are expected, given his style of play.

These type of things happen Rodrigo. He puts great effort into the game and is a good player with the promise of becoming great. Just a little more consistency in not turning the ball over in terrible areas. Also, out of 10 shots he’s taken from outside the box this year, it seems like he has dragged or terribly mishit 9 of them. Small improvement will go a long way.
