him and d. costa love their grinta. This guy worked his ass off when he lost the ball. Douglas also was contributing so much in defense.

He is like a stronger and more athletic Pjanic. The only thing he lacks right now statistical contribution (goals and assists), and that’s partially because he hasn’t played much.

Even at Boca juniors he never had the end product but he needs to play more

And experience, that's what he mostly lacks.

With Uruguayans you know you are getting character. If they've got talent you know there is a good player there waiting to be found.

I love this guy. He has a lof ot potential, but I think he should play more as B2B midfielder not regista.
He can be good in both roles. Has the technique and passing range to play as a regista/ DM, but he has a good drive with the ball so it could be interesting to see him as a btb in a less static role. Probably has to improve his end product if he is going to play as a btb.

Sky is reporting he will start.

Stronger engine than Marchisio and last year our midfield was overrun so he and Matuidi will be doing a lot of hustling...

This kid has premium length and coverage box to box, and run in large strides. Just don't know about his aerial game yet, but his long passes and ball tackling/interceptions can be key.
