Very few, due to obvious reasons we know (health and being newer to playing sole ST), but his quality is obvious either way, that RIGHT NOW, he is performing like a great attacker, thats what is relevant when it comes to signing him.
But what I don't understand in this whole discussion is why only the "right now" is relevant.
I'm not denying his obvious quality. I'm just saying that he's not particularly young, not particularly cheap & not particularly consistent overall.
And I don't know why, but I can't shake the feeling that he'll fail outside of Arsenal. Just a gut feeling.

Fredrik: There wont be any shortage of clubs who would buy him for 15m, thats hardly his market price, only thing that would lower his price is the fact he is 100% leaving and has 1 year left in his contract. 15m is too much of a risk for him apparently, but how many insane amount of money have wasted on total mediocrity on last 4-5 years? (only year and half ago we bought Matri for 18.5m for 10 goals for Cagliari...). You hardly get opportunities like the chance of signing a player who performed like he did in last season, as we currently have. IMO he will go to City anyways, but just arguing for clarity's sake, if he has been performing he has is too much of a risk, how is anyone else we have available to us any better?

I get the feeling, I get that with certain players too, and I'm not saying he doesnt come with some risk, mainly the consistency bit you mentionned, because IMO age isnt an issue 28-29 year old top class attacker is fine to sign, and the price will hardly be an issue if we are seriously about investing (his contract is running out and will be around 20-25m IMO), but yeah even if his quality is obvious, is remains to be seen how he does elsewhere, but that is true for most signings.
And I say right now is what is important because he isnt the player he used to be, he developed and adapted as a player clearly when he has been groomed to be a full blown box striker.

Thing is, most reports are claiming prices starting at 20 million€. Add his massive wages to that & you're looking at someone who'll probably cost you about twice (if not more) of what Matri costs. Will he provide twice of what Matri provides. Maybe, maybe not.
Then there are things like resale value, actual possibility of selling, etc.
Regardless, like yourself, I don't see him joining us either. And based on what the likes of Conte or Marotta repeat every so often, we may not even be interested in him in the first place.

Rvp Will choose the club he wants to play for and thats why i dont See any reasons to make this a bidding war, we all know Who Will win that anyway. Matri was a desperat transfer and we paid too much. Still 10 goals in half a season is good. I would prefer Jovetic or ramirez if the transferfee is 20m +

Dont doubt we are interested (Agnelli and Marrotta mentionned him in the past), just doubt we could make it happen.
And yeah I know his wages should be big, but so what? We are supposed to invest big in a key position and key player, and we have been lowering our wage budget for every summer, if we cant allocate the needed investment for marquee players like him, why bother looking into them. And yeah he would provide so INSANELY much more then Matri its unreal, so yeah its quite justiable he would cost quite bit more then him. I mean, even if I find Arsenal more and more boring (especially without Cesc), I cant be alone in seeing how fucking brilliant he was last season? How he dismantled Chelsea and generally dismantled opposition defences with ridicolous technique and precision.

Osman, I think you probably rate RVP a tad higher than I do. Which would explain our different points of view. And when I say "a tad", I mean a shitload

Buck. Lowering it was a goal in itself last summer, but we have been lowering it even more by several of our dead weight we are getting rid of our got rid of players that earned 3m a year (or 4m in Amauri's case), enough wiggle room to offer big salary to our key signing surely.
And I dont see how I rate him that shitloads more, he is simply extremely practical signing to make for a weak attack as ours, because he has shown that he is VERY efficient finisher last season and half more or less. Would be fine with most procifient goalscorers we can hope for, Cavani or more realistically Dzeko, but the difference with RVP seems to be bizzarely enough most seems to be against signing, which I dont get at all. I get some of your objections, but IMO majority who are against signing him in this thread have simply been so mainly because they know he is unrealistic target for us to get prolly, so its some weird defensive mechanism to "dismiss" such players (its lolsly, seen it happen in many transfer threads).
