Someone who's spent 8 years of his life there? :D you must be trolling Adriano. It's perfectly understandable if he ever decides to renew with Arsenal.

@Salvatore
.. or wound up over an insignificant qoute-less article from a british tabloid.
Has it been that long? Eight years, eh? Well, he's just not an ambitious player, I suppose!

Or he's got a taste for the Wenger.

Juventus was always portended to return to winning something, though. Arsenal? Come on, lol. I dunno, but I always imagined the goal of a professional athlete was to win things, not just a big payday. Resigning with Arsenal shows a lack of ambition, not a love for the club. After all, who could love Arsenal?!
I guess he does. He grew up when Arsenal was a lot better than it is now and became a fan. He's doing what he can to help them stay contenders, nothing wrong with that. Arsenal has always been a big team too, they've had a bad run lately but you forget they've done really good in Europe and have come really close to winning CL. Had it not been for Barca they probably would've snatched two titles.

Great player, but not worth the money we'd spend on him as he's 29. In 2 or 3 years he'd be perhaps washed up and we'd be stuck with a huge contract. Not worth the risk. Not that we can get him anyways.

The same could be said about many teams :)

We don't know that.

True, but they lost a final and they're the one team who has given them the most trouble by far. They had all of RVP, Fabregas, Nasri, Wilshere, and Walcott firing hot when they got ousted by Barca. And even then, it was because of that red card RVP got.

Arsenal Fans are seriously delusional. I dont understand how they can even compare the two clubs. All they can really say they had on us was a undefeated season back in early 2000 but guess what we are 1 game away from matching that shit as well so fuck you!

same, i do wonder what wages they would demand

unfortunatly, you cant just pick "the best price/quality" player.

that would likely be cavani tho, least of the 3 quality wise, but young and growing potential

madrid would rape us for higuain and van persie is 29

any of those 3 can come, massive upgrade

Higuain would demand lower wages than RVP, but higher than those of Cavani.

RVP may or may not cost less (since he's on the final year of his contract), but it also depends on who is going after him besides us.

With wages and taxes, RvP would cost us around 90 million € if he plays out his contract with us. I dont think he can perform on the same level as now for 4 more years.

yes, he is 29

however, if we get to quarterfinals and win scudetto or place second, he allready payd for himself
We won the scudetto without him and CL quarter-finals would be the target with or without him too. More like if he sells few hundred thousand shirts and brings us a nice fan base in Netherlands (which is probable) he already paid for himself.

Van persie has much more expirience in europe and domestically, has shown to be able to lead a lesser quality (wich arsenal is after all the sales), grabbing a very nice 30 goal topscorer award in the end, and thats not done by countering the opponent but trying to play football.
He is likely the cheapest in therms of transfer fee of the 3
Currently he is the best of the 3, has the highest chance of getting us far the comming 2 seasons, and has the best commercial options

this offsets an age of 29 and high wages.

I am not saying he is the best option, but i'm only saying, that he would be equally good for us then the other 3.

personally i prefer Higuain but think his fee will be impossible to meet. I would gladly take cavani ahead of van persie because of lower age, alot lower wages, offset against less impact the first 2 years then rvp could

agreed, but i think we arent gonna like the fee that comes for higuain

Robin van Persie is set to join Manchester City this summer in a deal that will make him one of the best-paid players in the world, according to Tuesday's papers.

The Daily Mirror and The Sun both report that City will offer the Dutchman £250,000-a-week to move to the champions, trebling his wages and putting him in the same earnings bracket as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Arsenal's objections to selling the player will apparently be answered by a £25 million transfer fee - an astonishing amount considering that he has just one year left on his contract.

Juventus and Manchester United still have their hats in the ring, but the Mirror claims Van Persie will tell Gunners chiefs on Wednesday that he is off to City.
