I reckon that's a bit too 'all or nothing' and a waste of Sneijder's ability as he won't be able to get forward as we'd want him to. Either way, it's pointless to discuss this, as he won't drop Van Bommel for any reason other than an injury. I know he's the most experienced player, but I feel he doesn't have the legs and general pace in his play anymore. I really hope he can step it up against Germany.

The starting 11 will be the same as yesterday, I'm sure of it. Maybe Hunter... but even that I don't think Van Marwijk will do.
What do you think of Strootman?

Strootman is the player I'd want to replace Van Bommel. Very talented player, although I've seen few full PSV matches last season. I'm basing most of my opinion of him on NT games.

He's a very good and versatile midfielder. He's got a great left foot and good enough vision to keep up with top level pace in my opinion. He's still young, but the times he's played with our NT he's been very good, very calm on the ball with fast and accurate passing. He thinks fast, I'd love to see more of him in our NT. He tends to make runs forward as well as score a goal or two, having a powerful shot in his left.

I think Janna watches more Eredivisie games though, so she might have a more complete picture of his performances and consistency.

I don't watch all Eredivisie games, but do agree with the talents of strootman.
he was very inconsistent this season. After the winter the coach (rutten) expected of him to carry the psv. This didn't work out since players like mertens/toivonen only played for them self and the defence was united. That is why he looked sometimes very bad in midfield after the winter break, and himself also dropped form after the winter.

That is also the reason Pieters looked like shit at PSV but at the national like a decent lb. All though I prefer to let Willems play their for both PSV and Holland.

Yeah, I'm not talking about a possible transfer right now. I'd just find it odd if he starts the next game.
I tend to agree. His first and second touches were questionable at best.

However, and no offense to Janna, Ken and all the other supporters of Oranje, but I couldn't possible care less about what he does for Holland.

Van Persie would be a beast at Juventus, with that midfield and Vucinic providing for him. He would be a monster.

In fact, in honor of Van Persie, this is the jersey that I am wearing today.

Yes, its an NFL Throwback jersey, but at least its orange.

Well, Creamsicle Orange, anyway.

Thanks. I don't think I've seen Strootman play, but Van Bommel was the player I was thinking he'd replace, he just looked so sluggish yesterday.

Unlike others I wouldn't really change your forwards. Sneijder works best when he's been given the freedom to come collect the ball deep and then look up to see three players making runs in front of him, or drag players out of position by moving around the pitch.

Yup. Since last season you could see age is slowly catching up with Van Bommel. Sure, he is very experienced and his presence could positively influence others, but he isn't quite that player anymore, even though I was never a fan. Strootman would do well in his position and you'll see plenty of him in the coming years, don't worry.

On paper, the 4 attacking players we fielded are a great fit and especially Sneijder shouldn't be taken away from his position as the middle man in that line of 3 behind the CF. That's why I said to Janna we shouldn't be moving Sneijder around, we'd be wasting his skill. Like I said I have my doubts about the forward but I'd keep the same names upfront aswell.

Yeah, I saw him linked with Milan so maybe I'll see a bit too much of him. :scared:

 Central midfield is too rigid for Sneijder IMO.
