And if he isnt possible

First alternative should be Robert Lewandowski :tuttosport:

In all seriousness though, wouldnt surprise if he ended up as Euros Top goalscorer.

I have a feeling, and I'm not just saying this for effect, but RvP may work better with Matri and Quag than Vuci because their movement is too similar. He is however the perfect CF for the kind of pressing football the midfield plays.
I see your point, but if we play with 3 forwards, the Vuci-van Persie combination will be great, with the support of hardworking RW in Pepe/Isla. But that is only if Conte somehow manage to make them work together.
If we play with 2 forwards setup, RvP definitely works better with Matri or any poacher type forwards.

Why? He does the poaching role fantastically himself, while being a player who can do so much more. But the reason he has been so super effective is he doesnt take so much responsibility on himself outside the box as he used to, and mainly focus on just hounding opposition in or around the box. Defenitely better off playing with creative supporting players or runners who supply crosses.

RVP is not better than Suarez as he is a different kind of player.
I rather we sign RVP since he is more of a goalscorrer.
Suarez is less lethal but better in building attacks IMO

Did they already deny what his father said? Or are there any more positive news? I was on the road and lazy to browse through the pages of this thread? What's going on?

Seems his father did say those things. It's not been denied.

I think we'd be in a great position to sign him, should he decide to leave. However, something tells me that he's gonna stay with Arsenal.

Suarez has scored 121 goals in 212 games he has played as a pro
pretty good I say
and Robin van Persie has totalled 137 goals in 364 games
so I wouldn't say RVP is way more prolific then Suarez

RVP is definitely the most high profile and clinical player we are currently linked with. Having said that, I'd be happy with Cavani or Higuain :D

Suarez is a dream, albeit a different type of player  :touched: :tuttosport:

Wow. Nothing too solid, but still, nice sounding quotes from Poppa Persie. 29 isn't too old. Not every player we buy is going to be working towards his prime. Those are everybody's favorite types of transfers, but balance in the team is important, too. We have a ton of young quality, we can afford to add another top star, a team leader, in his prime. The club is stable enough to do it, and we are preparing a legitimate challenge for European glory.

I love how Nedved was talking about knowing how to draw big stars - he certainly should. When's the last time we spent big on a 29 year old established star..? I seem to remember some guy named Pavel... or wait a minute? Or was his name Lilian... I'm a bit confused. Those deals seemed to work out okay, though :p

He'd be 32 at the end of his 4th season with us - he should still be banging em in at that point. He might have lost a little something off his game by then, but he's class, could still provide quality depth, and 5-6 more years from this player seem quite possible... I would expect a 5 year contract.

Also love the fact that RvP is a captain. Haven't really heard this angle discussed much - and obviously we still have quality leadership, he won't be our captain - but he will bring the mindset, which is a pretty big asset in itself.
