I'd rather seal a top deal quite fast instead of chasing for few weeks and see these players end up in clubs all over Europe and with competitors. But we all know it won't happen with slower than snail Marotta.

It has more to do with the fact of being able to afford these type of signings, rather than his inability to struck the deal. You need to look at those targets that we allegedly missed to sign and the fee other clubs payed for them. As I've said: not in our price range.

After most of our senators left we were in rebuilding process. What matters is that our team right now looks far better than what we had 3-4 years ago. It's not rocket science really, you are allocated with certain budget and first have to address the most important issues. When you need to overhaul the entire team it takes time before you can bring in top quality signings. From Motta to Licht, Aqualiani to Pirlo, Melo to Vidal, De Ceglie to Asamoah, aging Alex and Trez to Vucinic, Quag and Matri, etc... Then Llorente and Tevez came and our progress continued. Every summer we improve our team, yet people find reason to complain.
