No it's 300! :extatic:
187 in serie A, 13 in serie C, 27 in the NT, and 73 in between Italy cup, Uefa cup and CL. That's considering all the career goals in big competitions.
He's the first after war player to reach this number :star: :strong: :star: over all just Piola an Meazza did better in Italian soccer history! :thumb:
Considering just serie A he wisch to arrive to 200 but ther's 13 goals still missing.

Here you are a nice articole in "la gazzetta on line":

http://www.gazzetta.it/statics/scalcio/pp_3.0.861003085.html

And here you are an other from soccerage:

http://www.soccerage.com/en/13/j3902.html

It's less nice, but it's in English.

300 goals, woo what an achievement for one of the greatest players of my generation and of that 300 more than 100 were of genuine quaslity

Kudos to the great man and hopefully he will reach 200 serieA goals

Hi Denco, welcome back! ;)
Yes, let's hope he will arrive also to score 200 goals in serie A, but also if he will not never mind, numbers are just nice to remember but they are nothing near to Baggio skill and class.
Actually it's true, if you look the topscorer list the others who score like Roby are all proper foward or oportunist, while Baggio is more a playmaker and an assist-man and his goals are usually difficolt and special, if you look at them you won't find almost any header and any "Inzaghi style" easy goals, but he was helped a lot by penaltys and freekicks to be so prolific in the other side...

Roby dedicated his goal number 300 to his dad, running into the videocamera after he scored, screaming "Happy birtday dad, I love you"...
"Corriere della sera" interviewed Fiorindo Baggio, here you are the transltion:

"The day after, the emotion is stronger. Fiorindo Baggio still has in his eyes Roberto's image. "It seemed to me he wanted to go out of the television. I didnt ecxept to celebrate my birthday in that way. It has been certainly the most beautiful of my life." It is an important day for the daddy of the champion. Fiorindo Baggio has found protagonist again.
"I was watching the tv, with my wife. We do not miss a Robi match. I was indecisive if going to the stadium, then the cold, the laziness ... I have preferred to stay in Caldogno. I was tense as every time he pulls a penalty. Then I have seen him to run and to shout: '' happy birthday Daddy, I love you'. There is all in that gesture, his spontaneity, his joy, attachment to the family. Its an indescribable emotion. I have looked at my wife, she was more moved than me. Robi called me after the match. He is a champion but above all a big man. I know that he must go to Spain to the party of the Real, but I wait for his return to Caldogno to hug him."

It's so nice :touched: cause Roby never ever did something like that, usually he's so reservated! And cause the other players use to celebrate this kind of goals whith "numeric value" writing the number under they jersey and than taking it off... and he didn't prepare anything selfisch (even if 300 it's a record number) and just dedicated the goal to his dad...

Today is the FIFA world player day...
As expectated Ronaldo won it.
In the FIFA website they are also celebrating the past winners with pictures and articoles...
Here it is what they say about Roby, it's a very nice article imo :thumb:

1993, Roberto Baggio
“Il Divino Codino” is a footballing genius: an inch-perfect passer of the ball, a free-kick specialist and a sensational dribbler. In his heyday he was unstoppable; seemingly capable of rounding any number of defenders before finishing in style. Who will ever forget his goal against Czechoslovakia at Italia 90 when he took on and beat the whole Czech defence? Venerated as a demi-god at Fiorentina, rioting broke out in the streets of Florence the day Roberto signed for Juventus.

He was voted European Footballer of the Year in 1993 after leading Juventus to triumph in the UEFA Cup, and he followed that up with an outstanding display at USA 94, taking the Squadra Azzurra virtually single-handedly all the way to the Final, scoring five of his side’s six goals from the second round on. The pony-tailed maestro’s career has also been punctuated with disappointments and injuries, but he has always bounced back with undying self-belief. “I’ve never had to resurrect my career because my career has never been over”, says this never ruffled Buddhist. Legend has it that the Pope once told Baggio “you are my greatest challenge”.

I think Pele said something similar after scoring his goal #1000, also from a penalty. My feeling is if you score that many goals it hardly matters which one is from a penalty, there is enough good material to fill an afternoon anyway (or a month :D) ;)

On a sidenote, Raul just passed 200 goals for Real in his career, and he's just 25.

And infact 4 Spain Raul is "the soccer hero" like 4 Italy is Baggio...
I don't know if they give him all the importance that we give to Baggio, but I will not be surprised if it will be the same!
4 Italy Roby is like pasta and pizza, say what you want about ouer governament ouer cities, ecc... but don't touch Baggio! :D

Why didn't he talk to the media? Because of the book? :undecide:

It really is surprising how you can manage to connect everything and anybody to Baggio :D ;)

Maybe later then, Raul is still young :) If he keeps on going he can still beat all those records by Di Stefano

Acually I don't know... he was not in a total press silence like Vieri, cause he was in the "football oscar" celebration not long ago and cause sometimes he did some short "on field interview", like the 2 I've posted in the previews page... They said in the TV that was 14 months that he didn't do any press conference but I haven't noticed it... also if in many occasion some journalists complained with him, saying, that thay need to copy what it's written in his website cause he don't speak with them...
I guess is cause many times they changed his words and write what they want... but  who knows...

Remaind that Baggio spent nearly 1/4 or his career injured and that numbers are not what makes somebody to become a "hero"... Anycase 4 Italian soccer history he's the best after war... what many of us saw of Meazza and Piola (the only who did more goals than him) are some old blak and white confused pictures.

Anycase he's more than soccerplayer 4 Italy, he's the most known Italian abroad, he's ouers "flag" and he is it 4 many years way before he brooke this numerics records...
Not long ago they made a research in the schools asking peaple 8 to 18 who is a real hero 4 them and Baggio came out to be one of the "living hero" 4 them with Gino Strada (emergency founder), Nelson Mandela and the Pope. Check out here: http://www.quotidiano.net/speciali/futurshow3002/per_eroi.php3

4 me he's just a soccer hero... and of course also a good person, I will never accost him with the Pope or somenting like that... but the fact is that 4 Italy he's a simbol... and that is not just 4 the statistics and the records.

P.S.: Raul is my favorite player excluding Baggio, and also if thay are diffrent I think he's the one who can be accosted to him more of the youngers stars.
P.S.2: By the way Raul idol was Roby and he said it many times, and Roby said many times that in his opinion Raul is the best player at the moment... ther's no reason to put them in competition... they are both grate!
