I don't really know why the Arab stuff happened as it did.

I see no reason, though, to link those uprisings with the criminal damage and looting that is happening in England.
tunisian street vendor hassled by police set himself ablaze, the supposed nobility of the purpose or lack thereof is irrelevant to what got it started in the first place. Not to sound too platitudinal but if economy was doing good in either place we wouldnt be here

do you know what started the arab spring? both are nothing but outlets for economic frustration
I don't believe this is economic frustration.

I don't believe there is anything a approaching a legitimate reason behind what is happening.

Or are the fourteen year olds out rioting because they are so outraged at the government's economic policy that they could no longer contain themselves?

"I'm not a star, somebody lying,
I got a chopper in the car..."

"You know the rules, kill them all and keep moving..."

In Tunisia and Egypt, economic frustration was the largest spark that made them then ask for freedom and democracy, so ya your right that thats what started the Arab spring. But it doesn't apply to all countries, Libya and Syria are mostly about freedom, which is non existent in these countries.
no more subsidized pricing for basic necessities + worse outlook on jobs for young people, same everywhere. It was/is and will always be about 'bread'. Though i'll concede libya is a little different with bozo the clown as president.

No that article was about Iran i think, which is also hypocritical, but not half as this one. I know its no laughing matter, but i fell on the ground laughing seeing the Gedaffi regime who has killed 14k Libyans over the past 6 months telling Britain to protect their civilians better :howler: :D
you don't think this is done with a huge sense of irony?

And this is what the riots are supposedly about: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/aug/09/mark-duggan-police-ipcc

The guy had a loaded gun on him, so I have no issue at all with the police shooting to kill.
his missus on TV yesterday saying "why shoot him in the chest, why not shoot him in the hand?"
well i aint a police marksman but even i know that when someone pulls a gun out you aim for the shoulder,if they are moving and you hit the chest then that is unfortunate but they should not be carrying a gun and most definitely not pulling it out when you have police guns aimed at you
