fair enough thanx for report on him though

to me it could go either way with Mavuba, but since we're close to getting Frings you think they would be compatible with eachother?
and do think it would be wise to bring in two players in such important positions from leagues outside of italy ?
I'd like it if we got one DM and one AMC. Frings and Mavuba could work together, just like Emerson and Vieira did, but that leaves us with no creativity in the middle yet again, meaning everything goes over the flanks through Camo and Nedved. I like Frings but prefer Mavuba as he is much younger, he could very well be the new Vieira in a few years. Mavuba and Diego, though a little inexperienced would make a interesting partnership, or Frings-Diego, a lot more balanced I'd say. Either way I long for some creativity in our midfield, it's been a while since we've had it.

I think creativity in midfield is needed now more than ever...
As vlatko said, our play should go through wings if we dont get a creative CM, but Nedved is getting old, so we cant depend only on him completely in serie A next year or the year after...

Frings can contribute offensively, if u look at Werder Games even though he might score like wild fire a lot of the passes go through him and he does make a lot of forward runs. So while he is more of a stabilizing force in the midfield he is also very good offensively IMO.

Rio Mavuba is a very good option at DM. He is still young and needs to develop. I would be all for a move for him to Juventus, but as a backup, not a starter. I have been really watching for DM's the past few months and I have concluded the following.

In order:

M. Diarra
Gilberto Silva
T. Frings
A. Diarra
R. Mavuba

I dont like Sissoko at all I think he is a moron.

I don't think that Juventus will go for a player like Mavuba. Between Paro and Marchisio we have to developing players and although Mavuba may have a better skill set than the afore mentioned, he might be an unneccessary signing. I would like to see a proven entity like Gilberto Silva, M. Diarra or Frings play next to Zanetti. My preference would be M. Diarra. I think the guy is a beast. Gilberto Silva is older, but would be perfect on Juventus. Frings is a good option too, but I fear that he is too aggressive for the role we need him to play.

If we are going to pick a young DM, even though he is 25, I would like to see us go after Alou Diarra. He is ready to start, huge, and played well for France in the WC final vs. Italy. He would be a solid pickup IMO.

As I said, I think if we acquired Mavuba, he would be a rotating backup with three other youngsters. I like him and wouldn't oppose him comming here, but I don't think he is what Juventus needs at the moment.

i dont think that werder are going to sell Diego

about mavuba, what about his passing?is it more like a Viera or like an emerson? you think his distribution skills could carry us for next season especially as although we are looking towards the future we need big performances for next season as well

Agreed, I really don't understand why so many peope think Diego is a realistic transfer target for us at this moment.
Firstly, he only joined Werder last season.
Secondly, he has been their best player this season and third, if we could buy him, then there will be like 5 other big teams also interested in him which are more attractive to play for next season (f.e. teams that play cl) so we should just forget about him for next summer.

Diego is just a dream I know, I'm just reiterating our need for creativity in the midfield.

As for Mavuba, I think you got the impression I know him like the palm of my hand. :p Which is far from the truth, I've seen very little of him, a few matches and highlights of U21's on Eurosport and some clips on the net. But with certainty I can say he's no Emerson, lot more similar to Vieira meaning he can pass the ball around. :p Would his distributional skills carry us in Serie A next season? I don't know, doubt it, he's still young..It's unknown how he would handle the pressure of playing for Juventus.

For next season Frings would definetly be the better choice, but in the long run it's definetly Mavuba. Appiah was extremelly talented, yet he played pretty shitty for us, he literally couldn't pass the ball and look at him now and look how he performed at the WC. It's a gamble surely, but one I'd like to take if we could end up with the new Vieira.

if we want some1 who can play like pirlo then i would not suggest mavuba...it will be a waste of money...it will be better to groom some1 like marchisio or go for a real proven quality player like snejider

i would suggest if we go to someone as Lucho Gonzalez of Porto...
I think he's similar with Pirlo in terms of passing quality..
Lucho and Frigs in the middle... i say wow!
but as we've been saying a lot recently...
I think that would be a dream signing..:pint:
