Reminds me of the familiar adage "If it aint broke, dont fix it."
What if ur paid to fix it? :D

I don't think gigi will leave though, he's right, the goalkeeping position is Madrid's least problem, I mean Casillas ranked third in Goalkeeper of the year, and he's always been only one or two positions below Buffon in the ranking. So its not like they have a Goalkeeper Crisis like we did thus the 33pound Buffon transfer.

They'll use their money on other areas of the pitch.

Cassilas and 30 mil € would be a good deal for Buffon IMO.
ManUtd offer 32$ Mil for Cassilas...
Ya want Cassilas plus 40$ Mil for Buffon....
That makes yar dream transfer reach somthing like 70$ Mil.....
I know Madrid is rich, but believe me they won't pay a goalie 70$ Mil.....

I find it likely that if Real Madrid will get Buffon, while Juve and ManU will get Frey and Cassilas.

De Sanctis, Abbiati, and Cudicini are likely to change clubs too.

So many possibilities.

Buffon is the worlds famous keeper. Did you know that theyve made over 500million € on the worlds most famous footy player, Davey Beckham? I'm sure they could pay 70€m and still profit on it, its the 'Real' way.

If it is all about selling shirts then maybe it is better for them to sign DelPiero as their goalie, he is cheeper than Buffon and he certinely sells more shirts....

Nothing is confirmed tell now, Perez said that he will negotiate Cassilas contract "will expire in 2006" in summer and then we can see what happens...

Why give Beckham a new contract? Why buy Owen when you have Morientes? Why start all the famous players even though when they don't perform?

Wake up and smell the coffey...

    Buffon not interested in Real

Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon has distanced himself from reports linking him with a summer move to Real Madrid.

Los Merengues have endured a torrid season by their own lofty standards and reports are suggesting president Florentino Perez is ready to sanction a number of summer signings.

Despite Spain keeper Iker Casillas being one of the few shining lights for Real this term, Spanish media reports have suggested Buffon is on the Bernabeu club's wish list.

Casillas has warned Real that he will not sign a new contract if the club bring in Buffon, but it would appear as if the Italian international has no intention of leaving Turin for Madrid.

"The truth is, and I repeat, I have a really long contract with Bianconeri, until 2008, and I feel really good in Italy," Buffon told Corriere dello Sport.

Buffon had words of comfort for his Real counterpart Casillas, as he added: "To Casillas we say that no-one called-me, no-one looked at me.

"And it seems to me that the least of Real's problems is goalkeeping."
Buffon, meanwhile, has urged Roma starlet Antonio Cassano to quit the capital and move to Turin.

The keeper believes Cassano's bad-boy reputation has been blown out of proportion and feels he would be an ideal addition to the Juventus squad.

"In comparison to the European Championship I found him mostly thoughtful and well behaved," said Buffon.

"Ready for Juve? Yes, he's perfect."

There are still a few months to go before we say better luck next year. As we've seen before, a lot can transpire over small periods of time.
