I was watching earlier today a reportage about Raul and some of his finest moments and the highlights of his career. I wont deny that I had tears watching this.
Raul to me, is an icon, like Del Piero, a respected classy captain, a man that is well deservedly respected worldwide and has done and given a lot for Football not to mention playing for over 15years for a club such as Real Madrid is something to dream of day and night for almost everyone.

It saddens me not to see a farewell match and enjoy Rauls last game wearing Madrid jersey, but he will surely be missed.

Respect and all the best to Raul. A player I will surely miss watching La Liga and Real Madrid.

I don't really like real and never rated Raul high but the exact thing in bold happened to me while watching him say goodbye in his farewell press conference.

I never liked him and never will, but he's a class player with alot of devotion for Madrid. But like they say all good things come to an end. Goodluck at Schalke Raul!

looks like Mourinho is clearing out the trouble makers then with raul and guti gone,2 of the guys who helped force Del Bosque out of the club (and look how well that turned out)

I loved it when I say the RM stadium almost empty when fans are supposed to bid farewell to one of their legends while it was packed with almost 70-80 thousand supporters when Ronaldo and Kaka were represented

Fuckin glory hunters.

really? how come? you need to leave a place and a chance for raul madrid imo...but in a way you are right because you can't get the performances that mou needs to deliver by starting raul...anyway it's a shame :)...i'm sure i will not see del piero, or puyol playing elsewhere

Mourinho told him he can stay and play a Materazzi-like role in the dressing room. He chose to move on for first team chances. He wasn't a bandiera anyway since he came through Atletico's youth ranks.

Guti had been at the club for 25 years but decided to leave since last season. Again nothing to do with Mister Mourinho.

Del Bosque is running pretty much the Spanish A-Team now, with Fernando Torres as Face. So who's Mr. T?
Wait for Senna to be recalled.

Go and tell that to a Madrid fan and you'll surely be in for the beating of your life.
