real are a fucked club with no morals or respect.

alex del piero and totti are the only bandiere left really.

its really sad, raul deserved so much more.
There are a few in England. Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher at Liverpool. John Terry joined Chelsea when he was about 15. Manchester United usually have a few lifers - the current crop includes Scholes and Neville and some lesser players like Fletcher, O'Shea and Brown (though those kinds of players tend to move on in later years, like Phil Neville and Nicky Butt before them). Giggs joined as a 14 year old too.

Iniesta could count too - been at Barca since he was 12.

Theres many around World Football who Leech onto clubs, he's not the only one. Players who have served their clubs very well over the years but then dont understand when it's time to step aside.

He must know himself he does not perform the way he wants too. I think thats what Raul has thought.
He probably knows it.

However why would he step aside last seasons when "internal competition" (bar diego) was inferior to his level, even if not playing at his best?

The team was/is struggling and he steps up to try and put it on his shoulders because no one else could.

that's not his fault but the management's
