Maybe we didn't want to accept another dry loan? At some point we probably expected them to stop dicking around but they didn't and we moved on.
i think we insisted on the loan with obligation tied to cl qualification, and randy wanted to return, and might have an agreement with the current management for next season as our vlahovic replacement. psg shot themselves in the foot and now have a worse deal than jj offered, but next summer the clubs will speak again

I feel like this is very wishful thinking. Hope it’s true but the Kolo ship may well have sailed now.

they let kolo join us in january, then he could stay for the club world cup too. where was ceferin then?

might well be, we'll see. i just have a feeling that randy liked the city and the club and it's usually the player's will that counts

If they had asked for 60m, it would seem a bit unusual to include a loan option for that circumstance, he would have had to be sold outright.

I really liked Kolo and would have loved to have him back, so I'm disappointed for him after this long. But we also need to stop assuming the club messed this up. PSG can be a pain to negotiate with. From what I've seen, management pushed until the last day of the mercato, then had to move quickly to plan B Openda, who's miles ahead of random scraps we could have ended up with. He's a quality player, my only concern is whether he adapts to Serie A the way Kolo did. In the end, moving on was the right choice and I trust the club here.

What if he does well there and therefore settles in? Then either Tottenham or even bigger epl sides will go after him next year. Im almost feeling like we shouldnt even be so desperate to consider him next year. Or what if he does bad. Then there could be question marks about his form and so on. While i like him i can see us chasing already other targets. If he goes crazy there and has a 20+ goal season will be difficult to compete for his signature. And if we does bad, we also have to accept he isnt some once in a decade talent. The main thing was that he settled in quite quickly and he wanted to join us as number 1 choice. Obviously we need to find long term Vlahovic replacement but every year and season new players emerging all the time. Anything could happen. Imagine if he gets injured for 6-7 months there, we still srs about him next year then? I liked him a lot but a lot can happen in a year and you have to also adjust accordingly to your needs every other year. Imagine if Bremer has another injury then we have to start prioritizing his long term replacement. Mind you he might be our only WC defender. And we need to improve that still in coming years.

I am disappointed mostly for the player in that his desire to join us was very strong. The silver lining is that it is a dry loan and therefore, while other Premier League clubs may bid for him, the will of the player is also going to be important in negotiations. That said, anything can happen in 12 months and I wouldn't get my hopes up anyway.

Why did PSG let him go on a dry loan again instead of whatever Juve was offering? How is this better for them
Sunday night PSG suddenly softened their stance, opening up to the possibility of sending Kolo to Juve on a dry loan.

Around 3 a.m, they contacted the Juve, however, by then Juventus had already shifted their focus to Openda.

Haha

Fuck PSG. Filthy oil scum criminals tried to swindle us for €60m only to give him to Tottenham on loan. Disgusting pigs. Glad Comolli stood firm. Giuntoli or Paratici would have 100% paid them.
Imo this was better news than any signing could have been. Gives me some disgusting hope that we may be in capable hands

Seems like strange news. Even if they softened their stance, it's impossible they asked us for dry loan. It also not possible if they know we dont have any negotiation for other player (Openda)
Comolli probably had his own deadline for PSG and once it passed he pivoted to Openda. Can’t leave an opportunity like Openda to play games with another club who may or may not follow through. Looks like PSG didn’t have anything else lined up for Kolo, so they essentially bluffed and lost.

I'm not sure if they lost because he is going to play in the Premier League so if he has a good season he will be worth much more than he would have been worth after a good season with us. On the other hand, it's Tottenham, so he might end up with 5 or 6 goals to his name regardless of how well he plays.
