Ha! Palladino and his two goals. Pathetic. Players similiar his age like Fabregas, Messi, Tevez or even Teo Walcott didnt just grab two pathetic goals, but grab the front page headlines.

Talking about him being the next DP or Baggio? A big joke. His current abilities is not even 1/8 of them and future potential wont be half as bright as those two.

Nonetheless, we didn't really hear of Zidane's teenage age didn't we? Ronaldinho? Or T. Henry?

Players have different skill cycles, just because your 18 and already plenty of goals and experience doesn't mean you will continously grow. And just because you aren't a wonderkid doesn't mean you can't potentially become the world's best..

But with all that said, certainly Theo Walcott is far from somebody u can take as an example.

i think its rather solid, zaleyeta is pretty good IMO AND WITH dp wich is always a good thing, i think its going to be pretty good

Training ground goal fest



On yet another sweltering July afternoon the team took to the training ground once more at the Mombarone Sports Centre. Having worked on their ball retention for the majority of the afternoon, the team divided into blacks and yellows and ended the session with a half hour practice match. The yellows took the lead early on with Cristiano Zanetti slotting the ball home to make it 1-0. At the other end Marchionni was unlucky not to score, his shot sailing narrowly over the bar, but it was the yellows again who gave the fans something to cheer about as, minutes later, Palladino doubled their lead from close range. Following some half-time instruction from DiDi the blacks pulled one back through Marchisio but their comeback was short lived as Birindelli coolly converted a penalty for the yellows following a foul on Palladino in the box. The game ended with man-of-the-match Palladino making it 4-1 to the yellows in the dying seconds.

Sporting Director, Alessio Secco, and Youth team coach, Ciro Ferrara, both made appearances late in the day, greeted enthusiastically by the attending bianconeri fans.

Palladino: “My chance to shine”

With his hat-trick against Alessandria in the bianconeri’s first outing of the season, Raffaele Palladino could not have asked for a more impressive debut. Goals in friendlies may not mean that much, but they are the perfect calling card for a player looking to prove himself and earn a place in the team: “I was very pleased to have scored, but that game was really about finding our feet. I know there will be tough competition for places, but I’m happy about that, as playing with the best can only make me better”.

Having already worn the youth team jersey, Raffaele makes his return to the bianconeri after an injury-plagued season with Livorno: “Last year was a strange one: I was out for three months with a knee injury. It’s definitely a negative experience, but paradoxically one that makes you stronger as a person. As well as myself there are a number of other ex-youth team players here, some of whom are returning from periods away on loan, and this is a great chance for all of us. It’s up to us to show we’re good enough to wear the Juventus jersey”.

The young striker had this to say about his first encounter with Didier Deschamps and the players returing from World Cup duty: “Well, to see players like Nedved and Ibrahimovic is amazing. I used to dream about one day playing with them. As far as the boss is concerned, he made a great impression right from the start: from the very first day he asked us to give our all to honour the jersey we wear”. And are there any players that give him inspiration? “I play just behind the striker and in Europe there are a lot of great players in my position, but two of them play right here, at Juventus. I can learn a great deal from champions like Ibrahimovic and Del Piero”.

I think alot will be riding on this young man, after Baggio and then Del Piero its the right time for a new number 10 to make his way in (in the next year or two). and we'll be looking to Palladino, even more so during this hard times.
