Palladino is a talent young player, who has a lot of room to improve. Assuming his contract is affordable, this is a good depth move.

With that, he is not a starting 11 player right now, or in the forseeable future. If he can't come to grip that he is the fourth choice forward and second/third choice winger, then he needs to look elsewhere.

Palladino set for flexitime

Raffaele Palladino is ready to put his versatility to the test to help Juventus conquer a Champions League place.

The 23-year-old will be asked to play in his third different position when fielded for the third consecutive game against Fiorentina on Sunday.

Claudio Ranieri has given Palladino his full backing despite the the Napoli-born youngster's hot and cold performances playing as striker at Reggina last weekend and on the right side of midfield against Torino.

The Bianconeri coach said: ""I'm very satisfied [with Palladino], although his changing position has left him off the pace, but he has great quality and is very much a player for the fututre."

For the clash between third and fourth placed in the table, the Italy international will take over the left-side midfield role left vacant by Pavel Nedved who is suspended after his sending-off the Turin derby in midweek.

add to our team De Ceglie, Giovinco, Marchisio and two quality players and you have an excellent team, I'm really glad Palla signed a new contract he is the future of Juve, in time he can replace Del Piero or Neddy depending on the role he gets from the coach

i think he has potential, but on a neddy del piero scale thats very optimistic, not impossible but still a long shot
:agree: it's easier said then done.. Palladino has a hell of a way to go before he gets close to Ale or Neddy and one decent half a game against portugal isn't enough to be any type of indicator whatsoever.. For me this whole potential tag in Palladino's case is stupid cos hes already 24, he really needs to improve a lot more in a short time to be a starter for us and the only way to do this is for him to start playing good and more importantly start banging in some goals

he should start playing at his natural position now to improve himself.
What worried me is that we did against a weak team in Reggina and he really sucked.. I think the 4-3-3 is the perfect formation for him as he involves himself a lot more than with just the 2 strikers up front
