Palladino seeks Juve launch pad
Raffaele Palladino believes a good performance for the Italy Under-21s could see him break into the Juventus first-team. The striker is battling for a place in Didier Deschamps' Juve side and is currently behind Alessandro Del Piero, David Trezeguet and Valeri Bojinov in the pecking order.
The Azzurrini face Spain in a two-legged play-off for the European Championship next summer, with the 22-year-old Palladino their chief goal threat.
"I can only convince Deschamps by playing two great matches against Spain," said Martins.
"It will be a really hard challenge, but I think we can see them off and can win the European Championship."
Palladino was heavily linked with a move to Serie A side Udinese in the summer, but was eventually convinced to stay put by Deschamps.
He said he had no regrets but warned he would look to find alternative employment if he did not receive first-team football.
"I want to make it clear: I am proud to be at Juve and I dream of playing more matches. For the moment it is not easy, but in August Deschamps persuaded me not to go," he said.
"I feel a good Under-21 performance could be the launch pad to finding a place in the Juventus first team.
"Otherwise in January we will evaluate the possibility of being loaned elsewhere."
