Within the next 7 days agreement should be on the table. Our staff will probably meet with Rafa two more times to confirm everything. We are going to offer him 4mln/season.

Same goes for Marotta, who already gave the green light for Benitez.
I hope you are right but my one question is (and I'm sure its already been asked) why would Rafa want to come to a non-CL qualifying club?

Folk with ambition and vision won't be concerned about Juve not playing CL from one season, especially if they team they are leaving are not a CL team.

Then it would be a lateral move for him, no?

Why would anyone consider that unless they are hurting for a paycheck or a job.

Because we can provide resources to him which he didn't have in England.
It's funny that you mention resources, being that our last 4 transfer campaigns have been mediocre in quality and value. And what player would want to come to play in Serie A with the state Italian football finds itself in right now? Let alone Juventus?

With the way Inter have been performing this season, I'm sure there would be a few players willing to come over and take the challenge. It's not like we can't offer good money.

With the promise of funds and being allowed to spend on who he wants, accompanied by Secco losing his job and Marotta coming in, it may be attractive to him. For all we know he might just want to come over and have another go at beating Mourinho :D

Diego came, when he had offers from in Germany and the EPL. Melo came even though he had offers in England. Juventus is still a household name in the transfer market and we have a thing very few top clubs have at the moment and that is money to spend.

I think it is similar with players, though you may need to pay them a wee bit extra to entice them to a non CL club.

Juve (believe it or not) are far more stable than Liverpool, are promising him more money to spend and are probably making him feel wanted (Liverpool's new Chairman hasn't even spoken to Benitez since he joined about a month ago).

Or maybe Benitez feels he has stagnated at Liverpool and just wants a fresh challenge.

Whatever the case, I hope he gets on board

I think "challenge" part is true reason

it's all about the money people...you splash the cash, especially on wages, then all of them will come.
Of course its all about the paper but there is also discretion being exercised on risk of opportunity/ability to succeed

What's was Hiddink's reasoning or explanation for not joining? Did we not offer enough?

As far as I understand it, it is confirmed that we tried to get Benitez when CF was fired. Im not sure we even approached Hiddink.
