Cagliari's tactics meant he was wasted.

He was playing quite wide against Emanuelson/Abate and Milan weren't attacking down that side.

Would have been more influential if he'd been played more centrally - against Seedorf or to close the space when Ibrahimovic dropped deep.
Do you think he can play as an anchor? In Pirlo's position, but with another role, I mean.

For what I've seen from him he's Vidal-esq, but I'd really like Juve to buy a De Rossi kind of midfielder who could play both in Vidal's and Pirlo's spots. Seems like we'll overspend for this guy, anyway. I just hope Marotta doesn't do anything stupid.

I think he could play the anchor role, because I think he's a disciplined and fairly intelligent player.

However, playing Nainggolan that deep would waste his athleticism to some extent and I'll need to see him more to be convinced his passing is good enough to play that role well.

That said, if Juve sign him and Pirlo gets injured, I'd be playing him deep before I'd consider putting Vidal or Marchisio back there.

And I wouldn't really say he's Vidal-esque. He seems a much calmer, more controlled player, but he probably doesn't have quite the same energy Vidal has to get about the pitch for 90 minutes.
