As for the actual debate: it is quite clear that this World Cup should never have been assigned to Qatar. Now that is has been, that decision should be revoked. Qatar bought their way to the decision, slaves will be used when constructing the stadium and the climate simply doesn't allow football. Each of those facts is enough basis to overrule the decision on itself, but combined they make for a very compelling argument.

You can't really compare an evolution in our modern information technology world with an evolution in the Dark Ages. And that they are supposedly still evolving is far from enough to condone what happens over there. The name calling is childish, but understandable, given how this entire mockery of a World Cup came to exist.

I wasn't referring to the dark ages, I was actually comparing them to the beginning of the 20th century which isn't that far away. Also the fact that they are involving definitely does not condone what happens, not in this day and age. Still, you should understand that it's unrealistic to expect third world countries who are not even close to being a century old as a nation state to be held to the same standards you hold developed countries who have been nation states for a century or more. It's not condoning, it's understanding that realistically it is an evolutionary process.
