"Tradition" is the worst excuse you can ever come up with. I hope they move it to the Winter. European clubs can cope for a change.
Yeah, sure, the continent that is responsible for over 70% of all the money in football, lets just put it aside. We hold a shitload of worldcupwinners ? not even important !

Why the fuck is qatar even hosting the damn thing ? Your conditions are terrible, you have no history, you are potentially fucking up the entire calender of most nations in the world, and the continental club competitions aswel, because what ?

Oh, you had a shitload of money and bribes to be awarded the goddamn thing, so fucking deal with your fucking bad weather, or admid you cannot create a halfdecent worldcup IN THEN FUCKING MONTH ITS BEEN PLAYED FOR OVER 70 YEARS.

yeah, lets just trow away 70 years of tradition, cause qatar has cash. You fucking oilsheiks are the worst thing ever to happen to football.

Why don't they just build indoor stadiums? The world cup will be filled, Arabs will show up but building an indoor stadium could solve a lot of their problems. Here in Stockholm we just built an arena and I went to the Sweden Argentina game and watched the game wearing my t-shirt while it was -10 outside. Surely they should have no problems building an arena that could keep the heat away.
Thats because sweden is a developped country. With intelligent people who act with tought, rather then the wallet.

Two football seasons will get fucked up if the tournament is moved to the winter. I hope there's an AFCON at the same time so that it fucks up that too and then we'll see how Fred reacts to that.
Oh yes please, that would make it perfect.

He doesn't like how everyone talks and hails Europe in everything while everyone else is being ignored. :agree:
Lets host the next olympics in russia, and let basketball be played outdoor, in november cause they got an organisation rich as fuck, not caring about rules and tradition.
I'm certain the very tolerant americans will love a change

Just call it the Euro Cup then and be done with it. No need to involve the rest of the world. Call it tradition or whatever you like. Feed humans to a pit of lions -- that would be good tradition as well.

Though having a World Cup in winter would definitely make the European season more interesting and also throw a wrench in the CL, it would almost be worth watching UEFA and FIFA go to war.

That and having to hear about how poor Europeans have to get up early to watch matches or skip work for the day would be hilarious.

Look its very simple. Many country's hosted a world cup, and some have been in hard conditions, like recently in 2002. heat and humidity.

Qatar has it now cause they are rich as fuck. They should use their mountains of cash to build great indoor stadiums so people forget its the middle of the desert.

BUT Seriously, they are new in the world of football, and think they can just move the shit to the winter ? thats one hell of a bad impression to make.

What would the hosting time of year have to do with the time of day matches are played?

I don't recall having any problem watching matches in 2002.

Having watched Korean Code S for a while, i'm not really troubled with late games.

The game should be played at the optimal time for the athlete, not the couchpotato armchair coaches.

I'm more concerned and slightly bemused at the thought of more than half of the world's top 25 leagues, including the top 4-5, having to revert their season to the completely opposite time of the year because the host nation isn't suitable to host a World Cup at the normal time of year.

I'd rather see the more likely attempt to play it in the summer, with artificial clouds and covered stadiums, like the 2078 World Cup will be on a terraformed Mars.

exactly my point, and they have the finances to solve it.

it would be mad fun if all european teams kept their teams from going to the worldcup. qatar would be the worldcup of disgrace
