I say xbox360, although I happen to have both. I find xbox to have much more games and a lot of quality in them. And xbox live is just miles ahead when it comes down to console online gaming.

Its your deck vsnoop, huge.

I want to buy a wii, and I probably will. Have you played mario sunshine? and is it as good as the reviews?
I've had all 3 but I just ended up selling my wii a few months back only because there aren't enough games on the wii that I played. It’s a fun console and very innovative but its not for gamers, its for families/kids and less than casual gamers.

I will probably buy a wii again if any good exlcusive games are released for it and when the price drops and the availability increases.

I happen to collect consoles, Ive got everything since the 16 bit consoles came out.

I'm only missing a wii, and I know it's not a gamers console, its a console made for the masses to generate more market share for nintendo. Because they couldn't compete with sony and xbox in the "hardcore gamers' market. But I love those mario games and those zeldas, we practically grew up on these and that's why I want to buy one.

Do you happen to be a collector?

PS3 owns the future with its blue ray player and superior tech inside, it is destined to last longer and achieve more in the long run...
IN the long term seem to be the better choice and the upgrade you need to make if you have a competitive PC, because the PS3 will get some exclusivities, other cosnole players will never see.
ATM though, it is the most expensive choice!
If money is not an issue, it is the best console!

Xbox360 was hurry to profit from the gap between PS2 and PS3 and it was cheaper in the US vast market and since it has almost a 2 year advantage in the next gen market, it currently has more games but this is bound to change in the future. Its main disadvantage is that it has no exclusivities, every great game is eventually ported to the PCs
But its main advantage atm is that, unlike the PS3, it can be unlocked and then you can download free in the internet and burn HD dvds, if you have a veru good internet connections, able to download 10-15 GB for a game and a HD writer to burn it, this is the main reason the xbox 360 sales were boosted and the reason PS3 couldnt reach it

The Wii is inferior to the other two consoles, by far, but its price tag significantly lower. Thats its great advantages. It also has some exclusive Nintento bound games, other consoles will ever see. But most of them are mentioned for kids (Mario,Zelda).
As the xbox 360, piracy is also present for the wii console and this boosted its ales a great deal.
The wii's lower specs is not an issue if you dont have a big full HD TV screen, if you do and you value high resolution quality, then look at the PS3, as its te only one capable reaching the highest qualities. If you are a moderate gamer and you need a cheap solution here and now, then wii is your option.
Its alternative view of gaming using this motion-sensor nunchaku, is unique, but the new PS3 pad, has already the answer for that.

For now i would recommend Wii to keep you busy until sony decides to unleash the PS3, unlocking it and providing the chip to the marker as piracy product.

360 would be the worst choice, because its almost as expensive as the PS3 is, (outside US)
but it is only cheaper due to the lesser memory
And it has less maximum resolution and a useless HD player.
More games atm, but all the good ones reach PCs anyway...

I have the xbox360 and it rules IMO.
Played the wii a few times, shit aint for me. I want to sit on the couch and play games, not to act like a fool and swing around with my arms constantly. Although it seems fun, you quickly get the controls and than the fun is over.

I'm not much of a gamer but I am a Mario fan and that's why I have Wii. Mario Kart is simply the best game ever, nothing will compete with it, nothing has and nothing will ever will.

The ps3 on paper is a better system spec wise, this however doesn't mean that its a better console. Consoles are made for games, ps3 has been lacking an abundance of quality games for awhile. Yes there's metal gear solid 4, and uncharted. But those 2 are the only games that stand tall. The 360 has twice as much games and a whole array of killer titles. What it lacks in technology (Not much behind the ps3) is compensated by games, and xbox LIVE, the best online service available.

You're right when you say blue ray is for the future, but most people today don't even know what blue ray mean or don't have blue ray players nor HDTVS. This technology will blossom but its certainly not now (its later rather than sooner), because as you know both consoles are reaching their 3rd life cycle. And even if the ps3 proves somehow proves that its superior to the 360 graphically ( games), and blue ray penetrates the market and replaces DVDs. Microsoft will release a new console much better technologically than the ps3. This is not even a speculation, MS is currently working on a after 360 project, set to be released sometime during 2010.

Sony have underestimated their competition this time around, they relied on features rather than benefits, and their brand name. They have made countless mistakes along the way, something they might regret especially during the next generation of consoles.

Nope, I don't buy games unless I lock up everything in the current game. And my brother got me PES so I am stuck with two games now. And I play like an hour or two on the weekend.

Not really a collector, I just like playing video games. Although I don't have the time these days I still like to stay on top of the console bit
