I noticed Giuseppe Ruggiero played last night in a friendly for the Primavera. As he is a 1993 born player I'm going to wait and see if he is used as an overage player next season, considering he had a serious injury last year, or whether he is only playing the friendlies for rehab.

    Slivka official: http://www.legaseriea.it/it/serie-a-tim/calcio-mercato/squadre/-/trasferimento/1891

    ------------------------

Interview with the sports director of Ekranas, the club we bought him from:

Deimantas Bička, Juventus have officially signed Vykintas Slivka. What kind of player is he?

"He's an attacking midfielder and at the same time skilled controlling the play. He is still very young and with plenty of room for improvement but has already shown interesting technical skills. For sure his best position is as a playmaker"

Well, Juve have found a budding Andrea Pirlo.

"Who knows, but I can say he is one of Vykintas' favourite players, who he is inspired by".

A Lithuanian player in Italy is unusual. Who noticed the boy?

"It all started when a Brescia scout came to Lithuania to see our academy and Slitka was the most interesting player. Then between them and Ekranas they couldn't reach an agreement for the transfer, so through good relations with Tiberio and Carlo Cavalleri there was the possibility of bringing the boy to Genoa. But at that time with the rossoblu across a certain period, things went badly in the league and there was no time to pay attention to the boy, so in May he was brought to trial with Juventus for 4-5 days and he loved it".

What are the best qualities of Vykintas Slivka?

"Good technique, as I said, and has a good physique. It's difficult to mentioned specific areas as he excels in many."

For a young player in a foreign league personality is particularly important.

"He really is a very shy boy and besides, to arrive in another country at 17 years old is not easy. But he is 100% professional, he's not selfish and always puts the needs of the team first. He will certainly grow temperamentally, to be stronger, because the competition is so great and you are also jostling to emerge."

The Lithuanians that came to Italy are Danilevicius and Stankevicius. Both of who have taken root.

"Your purchase is reminiscent of Stankevicius when he first went to Brescia. Physically, there is a resemblance, I think he will have a good career in Italy. "

He never played in the first team for you?

"So far he has always played in the B team because, although he is gifted, he is so young and to throw him into the championship in a team like ours that always fights for the title is not easy. But his qualities are not so little that he wasn't selected for the Lithuanian national Under 17 and 18 teams".

What does it feel like to have churned out a talent who now will play for Juventus?

"We are proud of it, it is something that fills us with joy because it recognizes how good our work has been. Knowing that our product will play in one of the greatest teams of all time is indeed a great satisfaction."

    Primavera in Dortmund

As it happened last year, the Primavera are going to being their season in Germany. For the second consecutive year, Marco Baroni’s lads have been invited in Dortmund to participate in the Ruhr Cup, an international tournament which will see some of the most Young Sector sides face each other.

After just ten days of training and with some missing players, the Bianconeri are ready to give their all against the four rivals of their group. Juventus are in Group A, along with the two hosts (Borussia Dortmund and Hamburg), the Polish side Legia Warsaw and the Mexican team Atlas Guadalajara. In the other group, there will be Schalke 04, Werder Bremen, Benfica, Dinamo Zagreb and Zenit St. Petersburg.

The tournament includes games consisting of two halves of 20 minutes each. This afternoon, Baroni’s side will play twice: at 5.20pm against Legia and at 7.30pm against Atlas. Tomorrow, they’ll play twice again: at 5.00pm against Borussia and at 6.50pm against Hamburg. On Saturday afternoon, the two semifinals and the final for the 5th from the 10th place will occur, whilst on Sunday the great finale will take place with the finals for the 1st and 3rd place.

I think we are playing with a reserve squad, from juventus.com :

The Primavera’s adventure in the 2012 edition of the Ruhr Cup in Dortmund - the international tournament which will see some of the most Young Sector sides face each other - started with a couple of draws.

Marco Baroni’s side which hadn’t the opportunity to rely on several players lent to the First Team and on some injured elements, finished this first game day with two points. The Bianconeri first achieved a goalless draw against Legia Warsaw. They then drew 1-1 against Atlas Guadalajara. The last result left a bitter taste in the Bianconeri’s mouths, because after the goal from Bonatini who took Juventus in front and a post hit by Schiavone, the Mexicans scored in the final stage of the match taking our lads by surprise.

However, the Group A is well-balanced. Tomorrow all games will be decisive. Juventus will play twice again: at 5.00pm against Borussia and at 5.50pm against Hamburg. The two sides at the top of their respective group will pass through the semi-final, whilst the others will play for a consolation prize. In the other group, Schalke 04, Werder Bremen, Benfica, Dinamo Zagreb and Zenit St. Petersburg will play for a leading position.

In any case, irrespective of the outcome of the tournament, the Bianconeri who went to Germany with one of the youngest sides, will use this opportunity as testing ground for the NextGen competition which will take place at the end of August.
But Schiavone was training with the first team and he's playing in the cup. :shifty:
    I can't find squads anywhere.

I think Schiavone is scheduled to go out on loan. We are really going to have to wait until mid August to see how the actual Primavera team for the regular season will be constructed.
