Care to share the superior deals inferior teams got?

It's not even a long deal, ours. It's 6 years. 2016-2022. Half the kit deals out there for major clubs are in the area of 10 years.

His comparing us to what the top 4-5 clubs in the Premier League get is just dumb. It doesn't matter what their results are, their kit deals are going to dwarf ours because of the marketability of that league. All one has to do is look at the TV deals. I'm sure the Ronaldo signing and the increased visibility from it shall help us in negotiating our next deal/renegotiating this one in the next couple years.

If you had to guess where Juventus, serial Serie A winners and European protagonists, land in 2016 compared to those 2 has beens, would you really go as low as 23m? Thats underwhelming.

You should not compare to Arsenal. It was signed yesterday.

Ours is like 28 per year plus extras. But that was signed in 2015. So it would be dumb for me to compare it to subsequent Chelsea or Arsenal deals.

It will definitely help. It already has. The visibility of the league is sky-high compared to the last few years. What's more debatable is how much it helps long term. It will help Juve commercially with marketability for sure.

What's more important is other teams getting their shit together. Roma getting their stadium built and stopping the revolving door for their top players would be huge for the league too. If that happens, alongside Ronaldo, and one of the Milans gets their shit together the league should be in a pretty strong position in 3-4 years.

Depending on Milan and Roma to figure shit out is a little worrying though.

Im not saying it should be the same as Arsenal, imo it should be more in the middle of Milan (2013) and Arsenal (2019) deals like Bayerns kit deal is, which was also negotiated in a similar time as ours if im not mistaken

Tell us how you would have entered negotiations with Adidas or Nike etc, and what you would have said to them that would’ve got Juve a better deal.

How would you explain to the kit provider that sponsoring Juventus would grow their brand to the same extent as Bayern?

What numbers would you put to them? How much money would Adidas/Nike make from being Juve’s supplier?

I understand what you're trying to say, but the way you said it is like saying if you don't train with the team, don't watch every minute of every match, or are not a pro footballer or a class A manager you can't say your teams' tactics are $#@!ed up. So football forums should all die.

Of course I don’t know the answers in relation to my own team. But I wouldn’t be calling our board ‘a joke’ if our deal was in the region of what comparatively marketable teams were getting.

And this is different to critiquing football tactics or on-field play, which is far more transparent. We’ve also all kicked a football about and watched hundreds/thousands of football matches - how many of us have negotiated a commercial contract?

We can offer evidence and reasons as to why tactics don’t work, or why this or that formation is better in certain circumstances. It’s very hard to do the same sort of thing with commercial deals, of which we have very little insight or information on which to make a judgement.
