Conte thinks you can go anywhere with 9 out of 11 players being defensive and zero game plan to attack. Plus Morata was injured after 30 minutes and Willian got in instead, so a poor attack became nonexistent.

Just because this Uber defensive approach worked vs Tottenham Conte assumed it would work here. Well guess what? They won vs Spurs because Alonso scored twice in set pieces basically, little to do with open play.

Agreed. No plan in going forward whatsoever. This would’ve been a draw best case scenario for Chelsea. And they were lucky City didn’t score more.

I don’t see Europe working out well for Chelsea.

Conte's problem is he stubbornness. He can make an amazing plan A but when plan A doesn't work he won't change until crisis hits

They have 6 points in their group and 7 goals scored so far in two matches :sergio:

1 win in 7 for Pool, not good. Incredibly wasteful side.

Noticed one player rating in the paper this morning:

Salah 7 If his finishing was good then he’d be world class. Lively but so wasteful.
Wasteful but gets a 7, lol. This pretty much sums up Salah in a nutshell @Hist

Wasteful compared to who? For a wasteful player he scores lots of goals and very regularly. If his finishing improves he can be really top tier.

Yes and Andre Silva will become a new C. Ronaldo if he takes a new haircut?

No need for comparison, he creates a lot for himself and others but has wayward finishing. He's not world class because of it. Very dangerous but you can't rely on him in a good position, it's random. If he could he'd be just behind Messi.

He's doing what Mourinho did in his second season. And I honestly do not understand why. Chelsea could have one of the most free flowing attacks in the world. Willian, Hazard, Pedro and Morata give you quickness, dribbling, crosses and presence in the air.. Why the fuck you wouldn't rely on that attack rather than defend all day long is a mystery to me.

@Fred, you guys are seriously going to lose Sanchez and Özil and get 0 in return? How is that even possible?

We have dybala higuain costa bernardeschi cuadrado mandzukic pjaca with pjanic on the mid and yet we still play inept attacking football like against olympiakos.

I think constant team changes have a lot to do with that. We’re on that fine line where we could become Barca of the 00-10 or we could become present Ajax. When the second half of the season rolls around, we’ll be world class in attack.
