No, go for it, I just mentioned it out of the top of my head.
Aha, then it's ok.
You just put some forwards in the playmaking role (Stoichkov or Litmanen for example. They were support strikers in their teams when they won the CL. Kinda like Del Piero for Juve atm.) and you mistakenly put AC Milan as the 1993 winners, when it was Marseille who won it. Also, Kaka wasn't in Milan in 2003.

Your main point is still 100% true. Every CL winner had a quality playmaker.

I'm not denying the fact the we're low on creativity, but let's break down our formation like this:

Amauri
Nedved Del Piero Camoranesi

We have "playmakers" as well, especially if you include one of Tiago or Zanetti.

Ya because both are known for their defence splitting passes, flair and creativity :shifty:

Yeah, Marseille won it but I thought they awarded it to Milan. That was a couple years before I started following European football.

I thought Litmanen played as an attacking midfielder?

Benitez is no better than Ranieri, Benitez plays the element of surprise in most matches, lets Gerrard do his thing and hopes for the best-the guy has a lucky sitting position for crissake, I don't want a coach that isn't even sure what is going to happen the next 15 mins on the field. And I don't like that whole triangle passing football he so much favours. Play him herd in the middle, and tackle well and you'll beat his over motivated team. Juande Ramos would have been a good replacement, but we all know who the best replacement would be-Lippi.
