selling buffon will have one advantage :

atleast we'd get to see bonnefoi in action sometime.
if we go down, then selling Buffon is a must. plus, i dont think he'd want to stay..regardless of what he says. he's just saying that so as to not incur the wrath of the fans IMO

:agree: Cannavaro to sign new deal Sunday 25 June, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fabio Cannavaro is ready to commit himself to demotion-threatened Juventus by signing a new contract.

The Italian national team captain is rumoured to be on the verge of penning a fresh deal until June 2009.

Now 32, Cannavaro has reportedly already held talks with new sporting director Alessio Secco about his future plans.

The club have approached the Napoli-native asking him to accept a pay-cut in return for a longer contract and he seems willing.

Cannavaro is contracted to net just under £6m from now until his present agreement terminates in 2008.

The club are willing to still pay that figure, but over the next three years rather than the next 24 months.

The Azzurri stopper, along with captain Alessandro Del Piero, has already stated he would be wiling to stay at Juventus even in Serie B next term.

I love this man

Buffon wanted by Arsenal Sunday 25 June, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon could be playing in the Premiership with Arsenal next season, his agent has confirmed.

“The possibility exists, even if it is a complicated one,” representative Silvano Martina is quoted as saying.

“London would be an appetising destination and Arsenal a welcome solution. However, Gigi would rather stay in Italy.”

Buffon is set to be sold by the Italian giants this summer, especially with La Vecchia Signora facing the threat of demotion.

English giants Arsenal have taken an interest given the age of 36-year-old German international Jens Lehman, the man who currently guards their net.

Milan have also been associated with the 'keeper, who is shining at the World Cup, even if they are unlikely to make a move until after the Calciopoli verdicts have been handed out.

Although Juventus paid a world record £32m for the former Parma man, they are now willing to sacrifice him for a fee of around £20m.

Possible replacements for Buffon include Milan’s Christian Abbiati, who spent last term on loan in Turin, and Antonio Mirante who was loaned to Siena in 2005-06.

Manchester United, Real Madrid and Inter could take an interest in the shot-stopper too should he be officially put on the market.

Not to sure about him though

If juve only get demoted to seri B could Juve not try loan some players out then bring them back if we get back to seri A again.

the perfect solution in my opinion :

Emerson and ibra --- sold to real madrid
zambo , canna ----- loan if they don't accept to play in serie B or stay
Vieira ---- well he had a great performance -- loan or stay
buffon -- decided to leave maybe so cash on him definitely
delpiero -- probably to stay

I would definatly settle for that.
