Deschamps ends summer sales Wednesday 26 July, 2006

Juventus boss Didier Deschamps has locked the club’s exit doors. “No more players are leaving,” he stated on Wednesday.
The Bianconeri have already lost Adrian Mutu, Fabio Cannavaro, Emerson, Lilian Thuram and Gianluca Zambrotta following their demotion to Serie B.
A host of other big name players have also been linked with moves away, but the new Coach is keen to not see any more departures with a 17-point deficit to make up already next season.
“No one else is leaving,” he stated. “The player agents can say what they want but this is our stance and it will remain.
“If someone is unhappy about that then they can be sad for two or three days before starting work again.
“After that, if they play badly, then their place in the team will be taken up by someone else.”
Although Deschamps failed to mention names, it’s fair to suggest that the Frenchman was making reference to the likes of Gigi Buffon, David Trezeguet, Mauro Camoranesi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Juventus will certainly need a strong squad to fight for promotion after last night’s appeal verdicts didn’t quite bring the good news hoped for.
