Hopefully manual focus works out for you :p

But it's easier than you'd think with the focus peaking feature on modern mirrorless cameras. You should get used to it rather quick.

@DAiDEViL which lens would you recommend for street distance photography? What's your budget recommendation
Meh, first I gotta say I'm not all THAT familiar with lenses for Canon ef mount. So not quite sure what all exists out there.

But that's always a personal preference thing anyway and comes down to what you like to shoot.

Maybe look around for cheap EF zoom lenses?

i mean, biggest advantage you have with your system is that there are tons of lenses out there, since the EF mount has been around forever.

Did you get your lenses? :p @Nzoric
I got them and only had time to test them for a few minutes before putting them away.

The feature that I looked at online, before purchasing, doesn't seem to work. It disables all focus help when I put on the lens, including the feature I thought I'd use.

Hmmm...Focus peaking and magnification still are going to work. What else did you want to use?

I forgot what its called, but a video I saw had some sort white lines going over the objects in focus. Can't locate it on my camera, but I've only tried for 15min.

The Zebra pattern perhaps? That helps to get the correct exposure and is mostly used for video iirc to not get clipped highlights.

You really just want to use the focus peaking. Trust me :p

Turn that on and you'll get used to manual focusing quick.

i can second that. it works like a charm on my body too. quick and easy if you get the feel of it. not ideal for moving subjects, but static stuff like buildings, landscapes are easy to shoot with focus peaking.

    https://viltroxstore.com/

i asked the viltrox support, this is their webshop. they sell good quality 3rd party lenses for multiple mounts, some of them are available from a eu warehouse, so no customs or vat will be charged.

turned out great, like a proper relic

on an other note, i'm reading positive reviews on the tamron 18-300. i usually avoid lenses with such a range, optically they are always compromised, but this one might hit a sweet spot :boh: these were posted in a local fb group:

Seems to be good optically, true I read that too.

    Are you looking for one?

I'm just so impressed by my 70-300 though. Mostly with how stable it is, the super quick focus, and how sharp it is at 300mm.

But sure, it lacks the classic 18-55 ish range for a true allrounder.

Maybe give it a go, or rent one if you can :p

About the XE1, sure it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I honestly like how it turned out :p

too cute  vintage headphones is a very deep rabbit hole i always avoided though. might be an intersound, regina, echo, whatever. many old headphones had sliders like that, mostly for volume or tone control.
