By replying Andy, have you just agreed to have her reinstated? :howler:
She was chucked out just for erm..putting a straw too many on the camel's back..that's a wee bit harsh IMO.

I declare that all who wish to show support for this noble of causes should reply to this message.

Well if the forum is to reinstate certain racist bigots... Why not bring claire back as well...

Ps. Welcome back Burke

Cool that you're back Burke, you deserved it after that Yeskimov thing :)

Claire will piss off even more people if her ban is revoked, and she will end up banned again. The only solution would be giving her a special status where she can say anything without risk.

Hmm...I was looking for the quote where Mikhail says he will stop as a moderator when Claire comes back, but I can't find it anymore. Anyway, moderators serve no point when everything they do is constantly reversed.

I hope that wasn't serious. There are only a very select few people who could be even close to deserving special status on these forums and most of them don't post here anymore.

I agree with that last point.. if decisions are constantly being reversed it feels, speaking as a former mod, like you have no power or authority to make your own decisions. Which is dangerous in such a volatile community as this.

How about creating a "No holds barred" section or a "Fecal corner" where Claire would have the liberty to abuse anyone as much as she wants? She could quote posts from other sections and comment on them there while having to stick to a certain standard outside of it.

But yeah if Bürke is allowed back, maybe so should Britain's favourite problem child.

    lol @ fecal corner..

but in all seriousness if Burke has been allowed back for whatever reason, Claire has done less to warrant a ban (though personally I reckon they were both justifiably banned and should remain so). It seems the two options are either bring back Claire or re-ban Burke.

Not exactly Tom. When the two posters signed up together a few weeks ago, Yezkimov was banned while being on very good behavior. Don't get his posts on Yezkimov confused with his posts on my account; in other words Yezkimov was banned for no reason because he was on good behavior. Claire was not banned and could still post while making some provoking coments, certainly more than Burke. Claire was just banned again for making antagonising posts towards John and a few other people, and whether or not it was the right decision she has been banned again, for the fourth time.

That said, I ask the management to give Burke one last chance here. I don't know how his account was unbanned, however it came as a surprise and he wants to participate in discussion, not worthless arguments like before. I also think that if people leave him alone, he won't get into any trouble. Perhaps it's for the best that Claire is not around for this.

Burke... see the problem with burke, or at least to me anyway, is simple... He returns and behaves for a while then jus naturally slips into his old ways... He's then really easy to get to flip and he allways obliges... How many chances does he need to see the problem...

Personally whatever people may think, i think burke is a decent poster when he wants to be... but he allways reverts to type, and has he ever thought of apologising to those he insults and upsets when he returns... maybe if he did people wouldnt feel the need to make him flip again
