Mertens under Sarri as a false nine scored nearly 30 goals in a 4-3-3 system. Let's hope for a great season for Dybz. He's better than Mertens.
Mertens had pace, Dybala doesn’t. He can’t play that role.
He lacks pace, the ability to play with his back against goal and most importantly, link up play with Ronaldo. They just don’t fit together.

People insisting Dybala stays basically puts the player above the team.

You don't need to worry as he will be packing his bags for Paris now. How did we get this mercato so wrong so quickly. We only had to offload a handful of oldies and buy a couple of midfielders.

Not sure what's going on right here really. I was so optimistic for Dybala when we announced Sarri. He likes lightweight 9s. And has openly talked about how much he likes technical players, referring explicitly to Dybala among others.

So it's either that we're in deep financial issues and we have to sell or that the board has seen something terribly wrong in the behaviour of Dybala.

I really hope he stays and we give him an opportunity with Sarri on the helm. The guy has shown how much he wants to stay like few players have before.
It's quite clear the first reason. The club's salary mount is huge and they were unable to offload Mandzukic/Higuain. So they resort to sell what they can.

He doesn't fit with Messi, doesn't fit with Ronaldo, who does Soybala fit with?

I disagree. However, the 2nd part of your post is true. No player is above the team. I just hope we somehow squeeze Dybala into starting 11.

The idea now Is that he is not real false 9 , not his best role so why we stick with him ?

Plus usually this position needs tall players and better body size to face off the physical fight in the game .... which is not Dybala best attributes

Dybala is soft and short to be false 9, real defenders will eat him

You absolutely do not have to be tall to play false 9 or even a straight 9 in modern football.

Look at City and Guardiola, they prefer shorter strikers in Aguero and Gabriel Jesus (both shorter than Dybala) because they have that explosiveness that fits the fast combinations.

Sadly Dybala does lack in that area but that does not mean he could’t do a proper job in that role. Just give him a chance as he had quite a nice preseason.

Some in this forum act like he’s some sort of scrub Amauri style and forget that he actually scored 57 goals for us in 128 games. A goal every other game and that statistic includes his horrendous last season. Which btw strikes like Drogba and Benzema also had 5 goal seasons and then bounced back to the 20s. It happens sometimes.

Dybala scored 78 goals for us. It is laughable how some people are outraged that he does not want to leave but are OK with Mandzu staying.
Dybala is not compatible with Ronaldo but Mandzu is not compatible with football.

Yep, you’re right. I was just referring to Serie A goals since everyone here is mentioning his “5 goal season” and ignoring the goals made in other competitions.

He doesn't choke and always scores clutch goals, even in CL finals. Imagine what he could do if he was compatible with football.
