i dont see what Higuain can do that Dybala cant, to make one a starting CF for a big club and the other not. the only thing i can think of is that Higuain is 2 footed

Ultimately, it looks like Max sees Dybala's other qualities (dribbling, passing, playmaking) as too valuable. He probably thinks it would be a waste to play Dybala as striker. The problem is that Dybala, on top of being our most creative player, is also our best finisher.

i think hes wasted away from the goal, and its not like he would be camping in the box all the time like a Toni for example. the beaty of him at CF is that he gives you all those other qualities, so when he drops deeper, you have an extra man for creating. and with Mandzukic next to him, you have an aerial threat to compensate for Dybis lack of

yep. with Mandzukic out there, you dont need a CF to do CF things, but be an all around threat in and out of the box

This is really the important point which I've said before also. It's fine if Max thinks that Dybala is not good as a #9 if we hold the ball within 20 metres of the opposition goal all match. Fine, you want a #9 who can be physical, win headers, etc.

But Higuain doesn't do that either!

But Max is too smart to not see this. I think he's just trying to keep the lockerroom happy. Imagine he comes out and says that absolutely Dybala can play as a lone striker. That just fuels a ton of speculation and drama.

This argument has been debunked so many times now. If you are part of a project then money should not be an option. What happened to; this player is indispensable or not for sale? Look at Saurez for Liverpool for example, no amount of money was worth what they were offered, and it looks like they've learned their lesson with Coutinho. Look at Man Utd with De Gea and Bayern when Ribery was the next best thing? The best players win you the league end of. You think the money for Mbappe will benefit Monaco? Or how about you ask any Barcelona fan if they prefer the money they were given for Neymar or would of kept him? Pogba is actually the type of player we need at the moment, and I firmly believe we would have won the CL in 2017, if we have kept him. Fact is I don't blame Man Utd fans for getting hyped, because of the way we portrayed ourselves since 2015.

So Neymar didn't believe in Barcelona's project? Of course it's not all about money, but it's not all about "the project" too. And there's many other nuances too. But money is a big factor (if not the biggest) factor. I only see Messi and Ronaldo as unbuyable players in todays game.

Second striker (barely exists in football anymore) Hard to fit a team around that.
Centre forward
Right wing (inside forward)
CAM

Probably correct, at least out wide he has space to receive the ball and turn, take a touch or two without always running into immediate pressure. Goes some way to mitigating his first touch issues.

yes and yes.

I think it will be the only solution to play , at least according to what max says. I agree with this one to be honest. Been saying that dybala should play wider from some time. His Am experiment well didnt went well...and to be honest his best trait is to come in from the right and unleash his left leg shoot.

This way we cancontinue using mandz and Higuain and CF, and Douglas on the other side.

All of this without tweaking our 3 man midfield, which is a priority above anything else right now.
